Born in 1971, Zhang Shiyu is a resident of Beiguan Community in Yishan Town, Jingtai County. At the age of three, after a high fever, Zhang Shiyu's legs could no longer stand up, and the doctor diagnosed polio sequelae, which cast a heavy veil on Zhang Shiyu's life path. In the face of a bumpy fate, Zhang Shiyu did not bow his head, still cherished his dreams, with extraordinary perseverance, self-improvement, broke out of a new world of his own, and composed a new movement of self-improvement and enthusiasm for the disabled.
Zhang Shiyu is optimistic about life, and she is disabled and determined to do public welfare on the Internet while taking care of her own tea shop. At the beginning of 2015, Zhang Shiyu founded the Jingtai County Charity Association, actively participating in the love public welfare activities of helping the disabled to help the elderly and the poor, "let the policy penetrate the hearts of the people, and let the care spread throughout everyone." That's what she said, and that's what she did. Since the establishment of the association, she has led volunteers to actively carry out activities to help the disabled, turning the care of the party and the government and the care from all walks of life into a timely rain, nourishing the hearts of the disabled, and allowing the disabled to live "fairly, happily and with dignity". In particular, she spares no effort in publicizing the policy of supporting the disabled and assisting the disabled, no matter the severe cold and heat, no matter the wind and rain, she actively cooperates with the county disabled persons' federation, civil affairs and other departments to increase publicity and let more disabled people understand the party's policies.
On the road of public welfare, Zhang Shiyu did not slack off at all. On December 30, 2018, the Jingtai County Charity Association established a joint party branch, which has made remarkable achievements in party building leading demonstration and standardization construction, and has been rated as an "advanced demonstration point" by the Organization Department of the Baiyin Municipal Party Committee; the association council adheres to the implementation of dynamic management, improves the internal management mechanism, and realizes the scientific and standardized decision-making management and public services. This year, Zhang Shiyu undertook the Jingtai County Civil Affairs Bureau's "Decentralized Care of Special Hardship Service Recipients" project for the first time, providing heart-warming care services for 588 special hardship service recipients in the county. The association has improved its internal management mechanism and realized the scientific and standardized decision-making management and public services, and has become a red banner of assistance for the disabled active in Jingtai County.
Under her inspiration, more and more people who love public welfare undertakings have joined the association, practiced the volunteer spirit of "disability and health integration, hand in hand", actively mobilized and gathered the strength of all parties with a more pragmatic work style and a good spiritual outlook, effectively cared for, helped and supported the disabled, and pushed the public welfare assistance to a new height and a new level. The association has 193 members and 536 volunteers, and with the help of public welfare platforms such as Easy Fundraising, Tencent Happy Donation, Charity Train, and Tianlai Train, the total value of funds and materials raised has reached more than 1.3 million yuan, and various funds such as social donations have been launched for 1.26 million yuan, and more than 1,200 people have been carried out to help the disabled and help the elderly.
Not only that, she also actively strives for a small seed fund from Gansu Xingbang Public Welfare Institution to improve the level of volunteer service through training, better serve the society, and serve friends with disabilities. Distribute electric wheelchairs to entrepreneurial disabled people and plug in the wings of their self-improvement entrepreneurial dreams. Since the establishment of the association in 2015, in order to create a strong atmosphere of the whole society to pay attention to and support the cause of the disabled, and to encourage the disabled to go out of their homes and integrate into the society, she has organized various publicity activities such as "Helping the Disabled to Watch Movies" and "Volunteers To Walk Together, Helping the Disabled to Visit the Garden", gradually enhancing the confidence and courage of the disabled in life, and setting off a good social atmosphere for the whole people to participate in social welfare.
Zhang Shiyu's good deeds and righteous deeds have been affirmed and commended by all sectors of society, and she was listed as a candidate in the August 2018 candidate list of the "China Good People List" of China Civilization Network, and has successively won the province's volunteer sunshine messenger for the disabled, and the second moral model of Jingtai County.
