Kunming, 18 Mar (Xinhua) -- Comrade Li Guiying, former director of the Standing Committee of the Yunnan Provincial People's Congress and secretary of the Party Group, died in Kunming on February 12, 2020 at the age of 92 due to ineffective medical treatment.
After the death of Comrade Li Guiying, the relevant leading comrades of the central authorities expressed their condolences in different ways and expressed their condolences to his relatives.
Li Guiying, female, Yi ethnicity, born in August 1927 in Eshan, Yunnan. He joined the revolutionary work in May 1948 and joined the Communist Party of China in November of the same year. In May 1948, he participated in the underground work of the party in Eshan County, Yunnan Province, and served as a member of the political work team of the Qianbian Column Guerrilla Brigade in Yunnan Province. Since August 1949, he has successively served as the deputy district chief and township chief of the third district of Eshan, Yunnan Province, the deputy secretary and secretary of the district party committee, and the deputy county magistrate of Asan County. Since April 1953, he has successively served as the leader of the task force of the Yunnan Branch Working Committee of Daliangshan, Sichuan, the secretary of the Yunnan Huize Lead and Zinc Mine Youth League Committee, the deputy director of the Propaganda Department of the Party Committee, the deputy director of the Yunnan Provincial Women's Federation, the member of the party group, and the person in charge of the Yunnan Provincial Family Planning Office. In January 1978, he was appointed deputy director of the Yunnan Provincial Health Department, a member of the Party Group and the director of the Provincial Family Planning Office. In January 1982, he was appointed Vice Chairman of the Standing Committee of the Yunnan Provincial People's Congress and a member of the Party Group. In August 1985, he was appointed Chairman of the Standing Committee of the Yunnan Provincial People's Congress and Secretary of the Party Group. He retired in August 2000.
Li Guiying is a member of the Standing Committee of the Sixth, Seventh, and Eighth National People's Congresses.
