Yesterday I revisited Xi linayi's MV "Autumn", a singer who has disappeared, a work that is about to be forgotten, but it reminds me of her former albums.

Xilinayi's self-titled album, released in 1996, is her only solo album to date. Commonly known as, a piece of singer.

The musical memory of Xilinayi began with "Autumn" and finally "Homecoming" sung with Hu Bing. Then, it's gone.

The first time I heard "Autumn" was the compilation album of "Red Star One". Although, as the first appearance of all the staff of the "Red Star Production Society", the most impressive thing about that compilation album was Tian Zhen's "Persistence" and Xu Wei's "Two Days", but Xi Lina was also a clear spring according to the alternative popular style at that time.

Of course, when I bought this album later, I was still a bit disappointed, because in the end, "Autumn" was also the best song on the album.

Or you can count "Sight", "Lilac" and "Illusion".

"Lilac" and "Illusion" are also the works of Xu Wei. Later, in Xu Wei's self-selected album "On the Road...", he also took these two songs back and re-sang them, indicating that Xu Wei at that time was not dealing with selling songs, but really cut his heart and love. Moreover, in addition to songwriting, Xu Wei also arranged the music at the same time and played an electric guitar, which had a feeling of personally marrying a daughter. Reluctant and not assured.

The same two songs, from the contrast between Xi linayi and Xu Wei singing, it is obvious that Xilinayi is a singer with an unstable chassis, although "Lilac" does have a flowing melody, but Xilinayi sings some flutters, which also makes the expression of the human voice very blurry.

This is actually related to Zhang Yadong's guidance, but Zhang Yadong cannot be blamed.

In fact, as the producer of the album, Zhang Yadong did not cope with this record. He even wrote six songs in person, and Faye Wong did not have this treatment. In terms of performance, Zhang Yadong also personally did it, except for the electric guitar of "Lilac" and "Illusion", which was played by Xu Wei himself, and other works were at least the electric guitar part, which was played by Zhang Yadong himself.

As a female singer who has not undergone any vocal training, Zhang Yadong is obviously teaching Xi Linayi to sing. It's just a template for music, more or less Dream Pop like the Cocteau Twins.

In order to make Xilina's voice more flexible and fuller without changing voice, Zhang Yadong also designed multi-track harmonies like Dream Pop, with various upper threes, lower threes and octaves, and even polyphonic chords.

It sounds like a lot, of course, for a singer who does not have a voice background, this dazzling design also makes her a little overwhelmed in the main vocal area. So there is a problem that when singing "Lilac" and "Illusion", the main voice part cannot be focused, very floating, very scattered. These problems also exist in other works.

Or to put it another way, Zhang Yadong is a singer in the lower grade of primary school, artificially pulled to the junior high school level, but it really can't be higher.

I don't know if it's a singing problem, but the whole album sounds very homogeneous. In contrast, "Autumn", which has the visual sense of autumn leaves flying, is indeed the most eye-catching work of the album. Listening to this song, it is enough to represent the entire album.

In addition to The Harmony of Xi Linayi herself, there is also a female harmony voice in "Autumn", which is Dou Ying.

As an early investment album of the "Red Star Production Society", the configuration of "Xilinayi" was still quite fierce, and the band included Cao Jun, Luo Yan, Cheng Jin, Zhao Muyang and other top musicians in the Beijing rock circle at that time. The recording engineers also included He Biao, Chen Qing, Hu Yong, Jin Shaogang and Cao Man, who were the best recording engineers in the Beijing rock circle at that time. He Biao and Chen Qing were both early collaborators of Cui Jian, and Cui Jian's "Rock on the New Long March Road" was recorded by Chen Qing.

And Jin Shaogang is also the recording engineer of albums such as "Compass" band "Choose Strong", Dou Wei's "Black Dream", and he and He Biao are also the two most popular audio directors in the field of domestic music synthesis.
