Created in 2015, this work has received praise from a wide audience after its premiere in 2016, which is inseparable from the efforts of every participant. In order to better present the classic story of red, we have consulted a large number of materials, aiming to respect the premise of history, to give the story a more novel form of expression and profound practical significance. In the whole creative process, my artistic outlook has become clearer, and in addition to expressing personal thoughts through works, artists should also bring the resonance of the times and the enlightenment of thought to the audience.

The musical theater major of the Xiqu School affiliated to the Shanghai Theater Academy has been established for ten years since its inception, and this year coincides with the centenary of the founding of the Party. The so-called ten-year tree, a hundred-year-old tree people, although the future is bright, but the task is heavy and the road is long. Our team of teachers will continue to work tirelessly to lead the children of the musical theater to the peak of art.

<h1>Synopsis</h1>

In 1942, China's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression entered the most difficult period. The heroic deeds of the sons and daughters of China who bravely resisted the enemy are too numerous to mention. Among them, the story of Wang Erxiao touched the north and south of the river with the song "Singing Erxiao Cowherd" of that year, and has been sung to this day.

The play is based on a true historical story. It tells that since Wang Erxiao learned that his father was killed by Japanese soldiers, he was determined to be the eighth way to avenge his father. He inadvertently saved the wounded Commander Liu. To prove he had grown up, he quietly left home to complete a difficult task. Therefore, he became the head of the children's regiment. In order to ambush the enemy and protect the Jin-Cha-Ji newspaper, the Eighth Route Army had to join the comrades of the newspaper before the Japanese army came. The Japanese army raided and swept the village, and the second grandmother was killed by the enemy because she did not tell the whereabouts of the Eighth Route Army. Erxiao saw his grandmother killed on the hillside, and his heart was like a knife, so he decided to let the iron egg go to report to Liu Yingchang, and alone lured the enemy into the ambush circle of the Eighth Route Army...
