Don't indulge in the "slow employment" that looks beautiful

In 2021, the total number of fresh graduates from ordinary colleges and universities will reach 9.09 million. Entering June, graduates are close to school, however, in such a complex and severe employment situation, in stark contrast to many counselors urging graduates to find jobs as soon as possible, some students are very calm and calm to join the ranks of "slow employment".

In fact, "slow employment" was not absent in the past. Fifteen years ago, I was in my senior year, and the college organized a career guidance lecture for graduates in the last semester. The keynote speaker, the director of the school's employment office, earnestly warned the graduates that the employment situation is grim, and everyone should seize the time and stop "shaking" in the school. But this kind of bitter advice does not seem to have much effect, and many students still have to do what to do.

In the definition of current public opinion, "slow employment" and "normal employment" seem to have become antagonistic terms, in the eyes of some mature professionals, young people are shaking, not hurrying to get employed, there will always be a bit of "idle" and "do not do the right thing" feeling. However, in the era when college students are "difficult to find employment" and catch up with the epidemic, public opinion has more room for "slow employment".

From the school's point of view, the employment department needs to count the "employment rate", there are assessment requirements, the school from the first semester of the fourth year has launched an "employment war", timely delivery of employment information to students, the second semester from March, every once in a while to statistics, report the employment situation, the school would like every student to be able to "fast employment".

However, from the student's point of view, many people are not in a hurry to find a job for different reasons. Some have to choose "slow employment" because they do not have excellent vocational skills and competitiveness; some are unable to find a relatively satisfactory job, high or low; some have an "obsession" with examination and research, examination bowl, examination editor, etc., and vow not to give up until they reach the goal, even if they have left school, they are not willing to find a job and prepare to continue World War II and World War III; some graduates are either afraid of the oppressive work mode of employer 996, or in order to escape the complex personnel relations of the unit, they would rather swing for more days. Nor is it willing to join the army of "office workers" too early.

For each individual, fast and slow do not seem to be an absolute measure of employment and success or failure. According to the career development process, the three to five years after graduation are a transitional period and turbulent period for graduates to run into this society. Some young people's views on work need a process of growth, transformation and maturity, and some young people need to constantly reflect and understand themselves in the process of "slow employment", focus on improving their professional ability, and actively adapt to this society.

Moreover, finding the right job for you often doesn't happen overnight. I remember that when the author graduated from graduate school, compared with other students, it was relatively early to sign a contract with the employer, but after working for less than a year, because he did not adapt to the working environment of the unit, he had to choose to resign and join the army of career choice. Many times, the appropriateness is not accurately judged by subjective feelings, but by practice. After all, each job has different nature and characteristics, each unit has its own cultural atmosphere, assessment standards, only into the working environment, in the post after a period of practice, you can know whether you are suitable or not.

Moreover, choosing a job, in the end, is to choose a way of life, many people just graduated at all do not know what kind of lifestyle they want, often only see a certain aspect of the work, either to stabilize, or to see the salary level, etc., over time, only to find that some jobs need to work overtime, some need to travel frequently, some assessment pressure is too large... There are also some factors that I have never thought about when choosing a career before, and only through the accumulation of experience can I truly understand what kind of life I want.

On the surface, young people have just graduated, there is no loan pressure to buy a house and a car, most of them are in a state of "one person eats enough for the whole family", and some people do not have the sense of urgency of eating the last meal and not eating because of the help of their parents, and the "slow employment" seems to have little impact on individuals.

However, "slow employment" does not mean not employment, many jobs will have age restrictions, generally 35 years old is a hurdle, and through "trial and error" to find a suitable job, but also need to pay the cost of time, everyone's youth is limited after all, allow young people to "swing" time will not be very long, frequent job hopping often means always starting from scratch, and can not accumulate deep growth experience in an industry, a profession, but also give the employer a shallow taste, not enough practical feeling.

This society chooses to "eat the old" in the minority, such people often have to endure the world's eyes to see the other way, the majority of people eventually anchor a job, not only to achieve economic independence, but also to realize their own life value. "Slow employment" looks beautiful, but sooner or later everyone has to face the social reality, it is better to find a time to seriously examine themselves, and take responsibility for the "shaky youth" in a timely manner.
