According to reports, the Japanese cargo ship "White Tiger" (displacement of 11,000 tons) and the Marshall Islands -- "Ulsan Pioneer" (displacement of 2,700 tons) collided, about 2 hours and 40 minutes later, the "White Tiger" sank.

According to Japan's Imabari Coast Guard, the White Tiger had a crew of 12 crew members, including the captain, whose whereabouts were unknown. In addition, the local fire department said that the other 9 people on board had been taken to a nearby hospital and were not life-threatening.

On the other hand, the Ulsan Pioneer did not sink after the collision, and none of the 13 crew members from South Korea and Myanmar were injured.

Rescuers are still searching for the missing crew, and the Japanese government's Transportation Safety Committee has sent personnel to the local area to investigate the cause of the accident in detail.

According to reports, the currents in the Laidao Strait in the sea area where the incident occurred are known as the "three major rapids in Japan", and the route often changes according to the direction of the tide, and accidents occur frequently.
