BEIJING, Oct. 17 (Xinhua) -- The "2021 National Fine Arts Collection and Donation Award Project of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism: Art Garden Xiangsuo - Yang Xianrang Art Donation Exhibition" sponsored by the National Art Museum of China opened at the National Art Museum of China on the 17th.
Yang Xianrang's art creation has a wide variety of prints, paintings, oil paintings, propaganda paintings, New Year paintings, etc., and has published "Selected Works of Yang Xianrang Woodcuts" and "Selected Paintings of Yang Xianrang". His paintings are collected by the National Art Museum of China, the British Museum and several museums in France.

From 1987 to 1989, He led an expedition team to go through twists and turns, entering and leaving the Yellow River Basin 14 times, immersing himself in the investigation of folk art, and traveling to 8 provinces and more than 100 counties and towns along the coast, publishing the results of the expedition "Fourteen Walks of the Yellow River".
This exhibition exhibits more than 160 works of Art by Yang Xianrang, which are divided into four units: printmaking, painting, synthesis and folk art. Yang Xianrang said: "Folk artists are our teachers", he let folk art enter the room, and "The Fourteen Walks of the Yellow River" stepped out of the solid research foundation of the Department of Folk Art. In February 2021, in recognition of Yang Xianrang's contributions in the field of folk art, he was selected by Guangming Daily as "China's Intangible Cultural Heritage Person of the Year".

Wu Weishan, member of the Standing Committee of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, director of the National Art Museum of China and vice chairman of the China Artists Association, commented that Mr. Yang Xianrang is the first batch of artists trained by the Central Academy of Fine Arts for the country since the founding of New China. His artistic life and the development of New China are closely linked, for decades, Yang Xianrang around the artistic concept of "art for the people" in the field of printmaking, New Year painting, painting and folk art hard work, selfless dedication, created a large number of masterpieces of the times, made outstanding contributions to the development of Chinese contemporary art, the spread of Chinese culture.
In this exhibition, Yang Xianrang donated 30 fine prints and paintings created at various stages to the National Art Museum of China for the national permanent collection.
The exhibition is presented in Halls 1, 8 and 9 of the National Art Museum of China and will be on display until October 20. (End)
