On July 31, 2015, the evening that made the Chinese people boil, Beijing won the right to host the 24th Winter Olympic Games in 2022.
"Strive to dedicate a wonderful, extraordinary and outstanding Olympic event to the world." In January this year, General Secretary Xi Jinping delivered an important speech at the report on the preparation of the 2022 Winter Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games in Beijing, sending an invitation to the world.
In another 100 days, the global eye will once again turn to the world's first "double Olympic city" - Beijing. The preparations for the Winter Olympics also entered the final sprint. As the Olympic flame is passed on the land of China, a feast of ice and snow sports carrying warmth and hope is about to begin.

As a global sports event, the Olympic Games not only provide a competitive stage for athletes from various countries and regions to show themselves, but also build the best platform for exchanges and mutual learning among different civilizations and the integration of diverse cultures. At present, the global spread of the new crown pneumonia epidemic has brought great challenges to sports events, and the preparations for the Beijing Winter Olympics are still orderly and undiminished.
In order to ensure that the Beijing Winter Olympic Games and the Winter Paralympic Games are held as scheduled, China is steadily promoting various preparatory work. The organization of the event and the operation of the venues were carried out in an orderly manner, and the service guarantee work, publicity and promotion and cultural activities of the games were accelerated. Since April this year, various snow projects and ice project test activities have been held one after another, which have effectively tested the key elements involved in running the competition. In the second half of the year, various test matches are also in full swing, laying a more solid foundation for the Beijing Winter Olympic Games and the Winter Paralympic Games.

As the 100-day countdown to the Winter Olympics enters, preparations have entered the sprint phase. From venue construction to logistical support, from sports training to audience service, the promise of "green Olympics" is becoming a reality, and the "Science and Technology Winter Olympics" shines with wisdom. The wisdom of China's Olympic Games has also become more and more clearly presented in front of the eyes of the world.
The Ice Cube, one of the Venues of the Winter Olympics, will be the world's first Olympic venue to set up a curling venue on a swimming pool. The "water ice conversion" is its biggest highlight and innovation base, and will also provide the world with a "China solution" for the sustainable use of sports venues. At the "Meet in Beijing" 2021 World Wheelchair Curling Championship on October 23, thanks to the application of innovative technologies such as the convertible structural system and the detachable ice making system, the venue completed the conversion of "Water Cube" to "Ice Cube" with high standards and high efficiency.
Also completing the "gorgeous turn" are the Capital Gymnasium and the Wukesong Sports Center. Ice-making technology, which has a carbon emission approaching zero, can save more than 1 million kWh of electricity per year; achieve "ice basket conversion" within 6 hours; and create the "most beautiful ice" on a thousand square meters of giant projection screens... The application of a number of advanced technologies makes these two historic stadiums also show "science and technology".

In the test match, flexible power patrol robot dogs, "not afraid to hit the wall" drone, smart body temperature stickers... A number of high-tech equipment comprehensively guarantees the operation of the event, strengthens the function of the venue, highlights the charm of the winter Olympics of science and technology, and makes a deep impression.
"During the test match, we used the all-digital support model for the first time to build a winter Olympic power operation support command platform to achieve accurate collection of full data for the venue's power supply equipment and eliminate data blind spots." Li Qingtao, power manager of the capital stadium (group) operation team, said.
In addition, the project team of the National Bobsleigh Center has developed a unique terrain climate protection system, and built the world's only bobsleigh south slope track; the "Yanqing Winter Olympic Village Digital Twin Operating System" is based on big data, which enables operators to grasp the latest developments in the Winter Olympic Village in real time; the interactive multi-dimensional viewing experience technology and system project of ice and snow projects have also made significant progress, and the audience can harvest the "immersive" viewing experience from any perspective through a 5G mobile phone.
"Sustainable" is also one of the key words in Beijing's preparations for the Winter Olympics. A total of 39 venues were used in the Beijing Winter Olympics and Paralympic Winter Games, of which 10 used the heritage of existing venues and 4 used land heritage, effectively saving capital investment and land development.
The Mountain News Center in Yanqing Division integrates the design concept of serving the future development needs. After the game, the venue's news media hall, multi-functional hall, conference hall, supermarket retail space and other plans will be "transformed" into a spa, children's water park, buffet bar, changing shower space, etc., to provide a leisure place for the public to rest and recuperate.
At the same time, all new ice venues and non-competition venues of the Beijing Winter Olympics are built in accordance with the national green building three-star standards, and the new snow venues are implemented in accordance with the newly formulated "Green Snow Sports Venue Evaluation Standards"; all venues of the Beijing Winter Olympics introduce clean green electricity, and the ice venues widely use advanced environmentally friendly refrigerants. These measures have greatly reduced the adverse impact of venue construction and operation on the environment and personnel.
"The construction units, builders and support teams have worked hard and successfully created a number of world-class high-quality projects, and everyone's spirit of struggle and dedication is inspiring." In January this year, General Secretary Xi Jinping inspected Beijing and Hebei and presided over the report meeting on the preparations for the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games.
At the end of 2020, all 12 competition venues for the Winter Olympics were completed, and the construction of related supporting infrastructure was also completed at the same time, and China once again demonstrated China's speed, Chinese wisdom and Chinese strength with practical actions.

Since October 5, the "Meet in Beijing" series of winter sports events has been launched as test matches before the Beijing Winter Olympics in Beijing, Yanqing and Zhangjiakou. Beautiful venues, convenient facilities, orderly organization and operation, and professional volunteer teams have been frequently praised by Chinese and foreign players.

In December 2019, the global recruitment of volunteers for the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games was officially launched. It is understood that the volunteer service of the three Winter Olympic Villages (Winter Paralympic Villages) in Beijing, Yanqing and Zhangjiakou covers more than 30 business fields and more than 100 positions, and there will be more than 2,500 volunteers.

The preparation of the Winter Olympics not only accelerated the construction of ice and snow sports venues, but also activated the enthusiasm of the masses for ice and snow sports and stimulated the tourism potential of ice and snow resources. Localities have introduced new measures and developed new products according to local conditions, and winter projects are breaking through the restrictions of region, season, crowd and culture, and have become a new hot spot for national fitness in China. As the Beijing Winter Olympics approach, ice and snow sports are gradually heating up across China and integrating into people's daily lives.
This year's Spring Festival, Beijing resident Yuan Zhaozhi brought his son, who had just entered elementary school, to the Miyunnanshan Ski Resort. Having never been exposed to skiing, he practiced with his son and became a "father-son soldier" on the slopes. "Many of my classmates around my child love skiing, and he yells for me to take him skiing as soon as he gets off. I didn't expect to learn a morning, skating better than me, it seems that skiing also has to start from the doll. Yuan Zhaozhi said that the Beijing Winter Olympics are about to open, as a member of the "host", the family must actively participate, and participating in skiing is an action.
Mass ice and snow sports are widely carried out, and the number of people participating in ice and snow sports has gradually increased, especially teenagers going to the ice rink and entering the snow field, which has ushered in an unprecedented golden period of development of the ice and snow industry. According to the statistics of China Tourism Research Institute, in the three years from 2018 to 2020, the total investment scale of heavy asset investment projects in China's ice and snow tourism is nearly 900 billion yuan. According to the "China Ice and Snow Tourism Development Report 2021", it is expected that the number of ice and snow leisure tourists in China will reach 230 million person-times in the ice and snow season from 2020 to 2021, and the income of ice and snow leisure tourism will exceed 390 billion yuan, and ice and snow tourism will become the core engine of China's winter tourism and ice and snow economy.
