Changsha, March 10 (Xinhua) -- "Your maternal grandmother's home is in the north, in Fuping County, Hebei Province. Your mother's surname is Zhao. Remember, your mother died at the age of twenty-three. Little baby, I hope you will grow up well and study well to live up to your parents' expectations..." When writing this letter, revolutionary martyr Zhao Yunxiao was only 23 years old, and she resolutely walked to the execution ground after feeding her swaddled daughter for the last sip.

Zhao Yunxiao, a native of Fuping County, Hebei Province. He joined the Communist Party of China in 1925 and was sent to study at Sun Yat-sen University in Moscow in the same year, where he married Chen Jue, who was also studying in Moscow. In September 1927, Zhao Yunxiao returned to China with her husband and engaged in secret party work in Hunan and other places. In April 1928, due to the serious damage to the local party organization, Zhao Yunxiao and her husband left Liling, Hunan And were transferred back to Changsha to work in the provincial party committee.

After that, Chen Jue was sent to Changde, Hunan Province, to organize the Xiangxi Special Committee, while Zhao Yunxiao, because he was pregnant and not suitable for going to the countryside, stayed in the provincial party committee to take charge of liaison work in various places. In 1928, the revolutionary couple fell into the enemy's net in the separation run and were both imprisoned in the Changsha Army Prison. At that time, Zhao Yunxiao was already 4 months pregnant.

In prison, at the mercy of the enemy's threats and inducements, and severe torture, Zhao Yunxiao and her husband were always righteous and tenacious. After repeated unsuccessful interrogations, the reactionary authorities sentenced her and her husband to death for "planning a riot and plotting misconduct."

In February 1929, Zhao Yunxiao gave birth to a baby girl in prison, named "Qiming", which means to look forward to the dawn in the darkness, no matter how dark the environment, she is full of hope for the victory of the future revolution.

Shortly after the full moon of Qiming, who was still in her infancy, Zhao Yunxiao received a death sentence, holding her young baby in her arms, and she reluctantly wrote a desperate letter to her daughter. As a mother, she is so reluctant to face her daughter who is waiting to be fed, so painful! And for the sake of revolutionary ideals, in the face of her husband's first departure, Zhao Yunxiao was so righteous and tenacious when he sacrificed his life for righteousness!

In prison, Zhao Yunxiao had already decided to follow in her husband's footsteps and sacrifice everything for the revolutionary ideal. She wrote a heartfelt letter with her daughter in her arms, calling her daughter affectionately and telling her children to face the future with hope.

On March 26, 1929, before Zhao Yunxiao went to the execution ground, he took one last look at his daughter and deeply remembered the appearance of the child in his heart...

On the day of the execution, Zhao Yunxiao regarded death as if he were returning home, and raised his arms and shouted slogans such as "Down with the Kuomintang reactionaries," "Down with the traitors and traitors," and "Long live the Communist Party of China." In her youth, she died heroically in Changsha, and her life ended forever at the age of 23. What is heart-wrenching is that Xiao Qiming died at the age of 4 due to his frailty and illness.

Time shifts easily, and the bucket turns to the stars. More than 90 years later, this last letter from a mother to her daughter can still make people truly feel the firm determination and high morale of the martyrs to throw their heads and spill their blood for the cause of the proletariat. Today, walking into the north gate of Liling Xianshan Park in Hunan Province, and picking up the stairs, you can see a statue of a pair of revolutionary couples erected in the Liling Martyrs' Cemetery: the couple in shackles snuggle up to each other and look firmly into the distance.

Yang Yunzhi, director of the cemetery management office, has read Zhao Yunxiao's last letter to his daughter countless times, and every time he read it, he felt his heart shake: "Every time I read it, I will be touched by the martyr's firm revolutionary faith and strong heart. ”

Every year on the eve of the Qingming Dynasty, some local teachers and students will visit the cemetery with reverence to commemorate the heroic revolutionary couple. Reading Zhao Yunxiao's last letter to his daughter made the teachers and students feel surging in their hearts.

"The teacher read us Zhao Yunxiao's letter to his daughter, and I felt very sad and moved." Luo Yiran, a student at Liling Experimental School, also wrote a letter to Zhao Yunxiao, in which he called her "Mother Yunxiao" - because "it is your selflessness that makes your children have a beautiful world."
