According to the evaluation indicators such as planting area, growth meteorological conditions, and production management, meteorological experts scored pudong's "Nanhui peach" from the perspective of climate quality. A few days ago, the Pudong Meteorological Bureau carried out the climate quality evaluation of agricultural products for the first time, and the climatic quality grade of peaches planted by the two professional cooperatives in the early pilot was rated as "excellent".
The southern part of Pudong is located in the coastal zone where the East Asian monsoon prevails on the southern edge of the north subtropical region, which belongs to the oceanic climate, with four distinct seasons, abundant precipitation, sufficient sunshine and suitable temperature. The unique geographical location and climatic characteristics have created the special qualities of Nanhui peach with good shape, bright color, tender flesh and sweet flavor.
In order to dig deeper into the value of meteorological and climatic resources, the Pudong Meteorological Bureau and the Shanghai Climate Center Joint District Agricultural Technology Association have carried out meteorological services and climate quality evaluations for Nanhui peaches since the beginning of this year. During the period, in response to the applications submitted by the two professional cooperatives, the Pudong Meteorological Bureau evaluated the "Nanhui Peach" according to the national standard of the meteorological industry "Detailed Rules for the Implementation of climate quality evaluation of agricultural products".
It is understood that the indicators of climate quality evaluation of agricultural products include planting areas, growth meteorological conditions, production management, etc. Among them, the suitability zoning index of the planting area shows that the peach is suitable for growing in high temperature and humid climatic conditions, and the establishment of the garden needs to meet certain temperature and soil conditions. According to the corresponding indicators, the southern area of Pudong was evaluated as the most suitable area.
In terms of growth meteorological conditions, the scoring values of growing climatic conditions before harvesting of peaches at the critical stage, including climatic resources and meteorological disasters. This year, in the key growth period of peaches, there were high temperature, even rainy and other unfavorable weather, so that some peaches fell fruit in advance, poor coloring, reduced sugar, which was unfavorable to the quality of peaches, but the overall hydrothermal conditions and production management conditions were better, and the quality of peaches still met the requirements of various physical and chemical indicators.
For production management, there are requirements for the environmental conditions of the place of origin of peach planting, standardized production technology, quality and safety technical specifications, and quality spot checks. For example, choose excellent varieties with good yield and good production and marketing, and do a good job of matching early, middle and late ripening varieties; at the same time, deep soil transformation and soil fertility are the key to fruitful orchards; in order to improve the fruiting rate of peaches, it is necessary to thin the fruit and control the amount of fruit retention to effectively improve the quality of peaches.
The expert group comprehensively evaluated and believed that the hydrothermal resources of "Nanhui Peach" during the fruit growth period in 2021 were moderate, the sunshine was sufficient, the temperature difference was large, and the climatic resources such as light, heat and water were well matched, providing good climatic conditions for the production of high-quality peaches. In the end, the two professional cooperatives produced peaches in 2021 with a climate quality rating of "Excellent".
Pudong Meteorological Bureau said that it will continue to deepen the connotation of serving farmers, improve service capabilities, and contribute to the revitalization of Pudong countryside, while hoping that the two cooperatives that have obtained "excellent" quality evaluations will continue to strengthen planting management, scientifically use weather forecast and early warning information, and drive other peach planting cooperatives to launch the "Nanhui Peach" brand, promote fruit industry income, farmers get rich, and explore new models for the innovative development of "urban agriculture" in Pudong.
