During the Southern Song Dynasty, there was a ghost poet, because the appointment of the guests did not arrive for a long time, when bored, he chanted a poem, which became a famous passage that has been passed down through the ages.

The time is in May of a certain year, the plums in Jiangnan have been ripe, this time, also known as the plum rainy season.
The rain is continuous, non-stop, and every day it is a torrential rain, beating on the green steps. The grassy fields in the countryside are washed by the rain and grow rapidly under the moisture of the rain, so everything is quiet and beautiful.
Every household is shrouded in rain, the pond next to the village has long been full of water, and the surrounding area of the pond is also full of green weeds, full of life. Deep in the grass, the continuous sound of frogs, the sound of frogs everywhere, and the sound of rain hitting the eaves of the house, forming a beautiful rural symphony.
Listening to these sounds, my heart seemed to be much quieter. The ancients worked at sunrise and rested at sunset, the pace of life was very slow, rainy days, farmers could not work in the fields, literati could not go out to collect wind outings, could only stay at home, listen to the sound of rain babbling.
Zhao Shixiu may have made an appointment with a friend to come to the house to drink tea and play chess, he prepared the fragrant tea, burned the incense, set up the chessboard, and planned to have a good time with his friend.
But Zhao Shixiu waited until midnight, and his friend had not yet come, that is, he released his pigeons. So he could only sit bored at one end of the board, holding his cheek in one hand and tapping on the board with a chess piece in the other.
One, two, crisp sounds of chess pieces tapping on the board, in the empty house, sounded to the rhythm. The sound came out of the window and melted into the endless rain in the countryside.
Time passed little by little, the oil lamp wick gradually burned out, and the burned-out wick, with a shining spark, fell in the night, like a meteor passing through the sky.
The poem, read from the surface, is very lively. The sound of continuous rain, the sound of frogs everywhere, and the sound of the poet himself knocking on the chess pieces. But carefully feel, we can feel that behind the "movement", there is a kind of tranquility, quiet, but also reflects the poet's disappointment and bitterness, and even some anxiety, so he unconsciously knocks on the chess pieces to alleviate the anxiety in his heart.
But this kind of anxiety, because of the poet's shaping of the artistic conception, has become subtle and elegant, with endless feelings, and the purpose of the words is endlessly evocative and amazing to the world.
Zhao Shixiu is not a nameless person. First of all, his origin has a great history, he is the eighth grandson of Zhao Kuangyin, the grandfather of the Song Dynasty, and the royal son of the Eight Classics of Zheng'er. However, in his generation, this identity has no shade, and everything can only rely on his hands to achieve his dreams.

In 1190, Zhao Shixiu passed the Jinshi examination, and five years later, he served as the Lord of shangyuan and later as the governor of Yunzhou, roughly equivalent to the current judge of the county court. On his career, Zhao Shixiu did not have any outstanding resume, so he said that he was "an official who has been three years old and has nothing to do", which is probably a mixed day.
However, in poetry, Zhao Shixiu's achievements are still quite high. Together with Xu Zhao, Xu Jie, and Weng Juan, he was known as the "Four Spirits of Yongzhou", and Zhao Shixiu was known as the "Crown of the Four Spirits". The origin of this name is because they all have a "ling" character in their characters, from front to back, their words are: Linghui, Lingyuan, Lingshu, and Zhao Shixiu is the word Lingxiu. At the same time, they are all poets from Yongjia.
Yongjia Siling did not like the pen left by the Jiangxi poetry school "no word and no history", many poets of the Jiangxi poetry school, the pen is not enough, but like to pile up allusions, show off learning, poetry reading is raw and difficult to mouth. In this regard, Qian Zhongshu criticized them in the "Selected Notes on Song Poems" that they only knew bricks, but could not build a beautiful building.
Yongjia Siling wrote poems advocating white painting, taking poets such as late Tang Jia Dao and Yao He as the object of study, but also abandoned the dangers in Jia and Yao's poems, so the poems they wrote were peaceful and smooth, clean and natural.
Later, people like Liu Guo, Dai Retro, Liu Kezhuang and others studied their poetic styles and formed the "Jianghu Poetry School", and Zhao Shixiu is also considered to be the founder of the Jianghu Poetry School. Of course, the artistic achievements of the Jianghu Poetry School are not high, because most of the members have written a lot of dry works in order to seek benefits, but representative members such as Liu Kezhuang and Jiang Kui are still able to clean up and defend themselves.
