Wu Ruolan and the four warriors fought with the enemy in a fierce battle, and finally ran out of ammunition. Her right leg was hit by the enemy, unable to move, and was eventually captured by Liu Shiyi's men and imprisoned in Ganzhou.
In prison, Wu Ruolan was tortured and eventually bravely rebelled, at the age of 26. Along with her, she was sacrificed with the four-month-old child in her belly, which showed how cruel the enemy was.

Exhausted with patience, Liu Shiyi sent a telegram to Chiang Kai-shek in a fit of rage, requesting that Wu Ruolan be disposed of. When Chiang Kai-shek learned that Wu Ruolan was soft and hard and could not be used for his own use, he repeated the electric circuit: Execute him as soon as possible, cut off his head and show the public.
On February 12, 1929, the day he received the telegram, Liu Shiyi immediately escorted Wu Ruolan to the execution ground and beheaded him for public display.

Zhu De noticed that the warrior on his back was already stiff, and the tears flowed out. Tearfully, he dug a cemetery for the soldiers, buried it, took off his military hat, and bowed deeply to the graveyard.
It wasn't until the evening that Zhu De finally found the troops, and at this time, his whole body was covered with dirt, his clothes were stained with blood, and there were faintly visible tear marks on his face.
When the warriors heard that the commander had returned, they gathered around him and found him alone. Chen Yi asked anxiously, "What about Comrade Ruolan?" Jude shook his head: "I don't know her, how is it now?" ”
On February 17, 1929, the news of Wu Ruolan's murder reached the troops, and Zhu De shed rare tears in front of Mao Zedong, crying bitterly: She died for me!
Then, a man walked into the woods and wept as he touched the new shoes that Wu Ruolan had made for him. This pair of shoes, he never wore again, but wrapped up and carried with him.

In 2008, Zhu De's descendants specially went to Leiyang to visit Wu Ruolan's nephew and thanked him:

"The reason why I practiced my double gun hard was so that one day my right hand was injured in battle, and my left hand could still kill the enemy."
Since then, Wu Ruolan, like He Zizhen, has become a famous two-gun woman on Jinggang Mountain.
