The Zunyi Conference, a key "chapter" in the century-old history of the Communist Party of China. 86 years ago, the meeting held in the Baihuizhang Mansion on Ziyin Road in Zunyi City saved the Party, the Red Army, and the Chinese revolution at the most critical juncture. Reflect in exploration, rise up in desperate situations, and open up in challenges. The spirit forged by the Zunyi conference spanned time and space and lasted for a long time, guiding the CPC to cross the mountains, create a century of glory, and rush to a new journey.
Insisting on the truth points the way
"Zunyi Conference Site" - Mao Zedong is the only inscription on the site of the Chinese Revolution. Here, Mao Zedong ushered in a great turning point in his life, and the fate of the Chinese revolution also ushered in a great turning point.
In 1934, after the fierce Battle of the XiangJiang River, the Chinese Workers' and Peasants' Red Army was reduced from more than 80,000 to more than 30,000 people, short of food and ammunition, and exhausted.
No one knows if the miracle will happen, but the miracle happened deep in the mountains of Guizhou.
From January 15 to 17, 1935, the Zunyi Conference was held. Meetings that last for 3 days, almost every day until late at night. In the fierce debate, criticism and self-criticism, many problems have been solved.
The "Left" military mistakes and sectarian organizational mistakes were corrected; the supreme command of Bogu and Li De was abolished; and Mao Zedong's leadership position and correct military line were established.
Painfully, the Communist Party of China ushered in a turning point in self-revolution. "Upholding the truth and correcting mistakes" is integrated into the blood of the Chinese Communist Party.
In the course of a hundred years of journey, at every important juncture in historical development, the CPC has always been able to face up to its mistakes and turn the tide.
In February 2021, General Secretary Xi Jinping stressed during his inspection in Guizhou that the distinctive features of the Zunyi Conference are adhering to the truth, correcting mistakes, establishing the correct leadership of the Party Central Committee, and creatively formulating and implementing strategies and tactics that conform to the characteristics of the Chinese revolution. This is still of great importance today.
Practice tests the truth, and history reflects the future. In the process of realizing the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation and under the guidance of the spirit of the Zunyi Conference, the road of the CPC's exploration of truth will surely become wider and wider.
Faith firmly blazing a new trail
From the bloody battle of the Xiang River to the four crossings of the Red River, a curve of a team with a firm will and a rebirth of nirvana is outlined.
Lost again and again, searched for again and again. In the face of the huge disparity in the strength of the enemy and ourselves, what tests this contingent is not only life and death, but also the adherence to Marxist ideals and beliefs.

At the beginning of the Long March, the commanders and fighters of the Red Army had a rifle every 3 people, and each gun had less than 50 rounds of ammunition; after the Battle of the Xiangjiang River, the troops had little ammunition left. After arriving in the Zunyi area, each gun had an average of only 3 rounds of ammunition left.
At this time, 400,000 heavy troops of the Kuomintang army were rapidly encircling the Red Army. The Red Army, equipped with "3 bullets per gun", fought with the enemy equipped with aircraft and cannons almost bare-handed.
If you ask, where does their courage to persevere come from? The answer: faith. At the moment of life and death, the faith is unswerving, and the spiritual power of Haoran is shocking.
From January to March 1935, the Red Army crossed the Chishui River four times. It was freezing cold, and the soldiers of the Red Army, dressed in ragged uniforms, marched day and night in high intensity between the mountains, forests, and rivers of Sichuan and Yunnan, and used a pair of foot soles to leave the encircling and suppressing Kuomintang troops far behind.
East and west, advance and retreat. The Direction of the Red Army's operations changed as many as 10 times, and the soldiers fought more and more fiercely. All the way through the detour, the established strategic policy of crossing the river to the north was finally realized.
Stemming from a belief that we must win, all hardships are refined, and all tribulations are forged.
Smooth the bumps into the road, fight off the hardships and set off again. In the new battlefield and new tests, the Communists have firm convictions and bravely forge ahead.
In the Tuanjie Village of Pingzheng Gelao Nationality Township in Bozhou District, Zunyi City, 100 kilometers away from the site of the Zunyi Conference, Huang Dafa, a member of the Communist Party, led the masses to rely on hoes, steel brazes, hammers and hands to carve out a "life canal" on the cliff, ending the long history of local water shortage.
Huang Dafa often said a sentence: "Can Communists be afraid of sacrifice?" Those martyrs who used their bodies to block the holes of the guns had to do it, and we had to have this spirit when we did things. ”
In 2020, all 66 poverty-stricken counties in Guizhou Province will be lifted out of poverty, tearing off the millennium label of "absolute poverty" with perseverance.

Independence and self-reliance
In the Zunyi Conference Memorial Hall, a report details how the Long March of the Red Army and the Zunyi Conference were reported to the Comintern at that time.
After the founding of the Communist Party of China, it initially became a branch of the Comintern, subject to the unified leadership of the Comintern. The Zunyi Conference was the first important meeting without the intervention of the Comintern. Mao Zedong once said: "Truly understanding independence and self-reliance began with the Zunyi Conference. ”
Taking the Zunyi Conference as the starting point, the CPC independently grasped the initiative and leadership of the Chinese revolution, adhered to the principle of democratic centralism and made a series of major decisions, safeguarded the overall situation, and held the fate of the nation in its own hands.
Four crossings of Chishui, false fingering of Guiyang, coercion of Kunming, qiao crossing of the Jinsha River, forced crossing of the Dadu River, flying to seize the Luding Bridge... Under the guidance of Mao Zedong's military thinking of seeking truth from facts and being flexible and mobile, a series of actions that can be called the stroke of God have strongly proved that only by relying on one's own strength and adopting combat methods suitable for oneself can we win the initiative on the battlefield.
Chen Jin, an expert in party history, pointed out that the Zunyi meeting told us that in order to do a good job in our revolution, construction, and reform, and in realizing the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation in the new era, we must not copy or copy the experiences of others, and we must independently solve China's practical problems.
