In the autumn of the 35th year of the Kangxi Dynasty (1696 AD), Yang Guangji, the 38th grandson of Yang Zhen, the 38th grandson of the Han Dynasty, entered Sichuan with his family and settled in Jijiaba, Pengxi County (now Shuangjiang Town, Tongnan District, Chongqing) in the 38th year of Kangxi.
After seven or eight generations of unremitting efforts, the Yang family has developed into a well-known local family, covering an area of more than 3,000 square meters, with a construction area of more than 2,100 square meters and 39 rooms.

In 1926, he was appointed secretary of the Chongqing Prefectural Committee of the Communist Party of China and secretary of the Military Commission of the Prefectural Committee.
