Luján

Lu Han (1895-1974), formerly known as Lu Banghan, was a member of the Yi ethnic group and a native of Zhaotong City, Yunnan Province.

In 1911, together with his cousin Long Yun, he joined the army in Yibin, Sichuan. He successively served as a soldier of the "Comrade Baolu Army", a scientist of the 4th Infantry Of the Yunnan Army's Daowutang (1912), a platoon commander and company commander of the Dian Army, an aide-de-camp of the Tang Jiyao Governor's Office, the commander of the 3rd Battalion of the 11th Regiment of the Yunnan Janissaries (Regiment Commander Long Yun), the commander of the 3rd Regiment, the commander of the 7th Brigade, the commander of the 98th Division of the 38th Army of the National Revolutionary Army (1927) and the director of the Yunnan Provincial Department of Finance (1928).

After the outbreak of the National War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, he led his troops on expeditions and successively served as the commander of the 60th Army of the "Nationalist Army" (who participated in the defense of Taierzhuang and Wuhan), the deputy commander-in-chief (commander-in-chief Long Yun), the acting commander-in-chief and commander-in-chief (with the rank of general of the Canadian army), the commander-in-chief of the Southern Yunnan Combat Area, the commander-in-chief of the Headquarters of the Southern Yunnan Border Region (1940), and the commander-in-chief of the 1st Front Army of the World Anti-Fascist Chinese Theater (1945).

After the victory of the Anti-Japanese War, he led his troops to Vietnam to accept the surrender of the Japanese army. He later served as Chairman of Yunnan Province of the Republic of China (1945-1949) and Commander of the Provincial Security Command, and a member of the Sixth Central Executive Committee of the Kuomintang.

On December 9, 1949, he led the uprising and issued the "Yunnan Uprising Electrification".

Since 1950, he has successively served as chairman of the Yunnan Military and Political Committee, vice chairman of the Southwest Administrative Committee, deputy director of the State Sports Commission (1954), member of the First, Second and Third National Defense Commissions, member of the Standing Committee of the Second and Third National People's Congresses, member of the Standing Committee of the Second, Third and Fourth National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, and member of the Standing Committee of the Fourth Central Committee of the Kuomintang Revolutionary Committee.

In 1955, he was awarded the Order of Liberation, First Class.
