Oolong tea is a semi-fermented tea, dry tea is mostly bluish brown, so it is also called green tea. Oolong tea bottom has red and green, fermentation of heavy oolong tea in the middle of green, leaf edge red, there is a "green leaf with red edge" reputation, soup yellow red, there is a natural floral fragrance, taste mellow, has a unique charm.
The types of oolong tea are generally divided according to the place of origin, and are divided into northern Fujian oolong, southern Fujian oolong, Guangdong oolong and Taiwan oolong.
1. Northern Fujian Oolong
Produced in the Wuyi Mountains in northern Fujian, there are rock tea and Zhou tea, growing on the Wuyi Mountains called rock tea, growing on the flat land called Zhou tea. Rock tea can be divided into rock daffodils and rock species, and strange species are also named cong qi species and single bush odd species. The famous congs are most famous for the big red robe, the iron luohan, the white chicken crown, and the water golden turtle, known as the four famous congs, in addition to the ten incense, the golden key, the unknown spring, the hanging golden bell, the melon seed gold, the golden wicker and so on. Single-bush odd species include Qilan, Tieguanyin, Meizhan, Cinnamon, Sydney Pear, Peach Kernel, Woolly Monkey and so on.
2. Minnan Oolong
Minnan is the birthplace of oolong tea, Anxi Tieguanyin is the representative of Minnan Oolong, the strips are curly and heavy, dragonfly-like, the taste is fresh, with orchid fragrance, and there is beauty as the image of Guanyin weighing as iron. In addition, there are golden cinnamon, bergamot, hairy crab, Benshan, Meizhan, Chelan, peach kernel, citron and other varieties.
3. Guangdong oolong tea
The Phoenix single bush and Lingtou single bush produced in the Chaozhou region of Guangdong are the most famous. There are varieties of Chelan, Huang tang, Tieguanyin, Meizhan and so on.
4. Taiwan Oolong
According to the degree of withering and greening, Taiwan oolong is divided into Taiwan oolong and Taiwan bun species. Taiwan's oolong withers and greening degree is relatively heavy, the soup color is golden and bright, the taste is thick, and there is a ripe fruit aroma. Produced in Nantou County's Phoenix Mountain, Lugu Town, and Mingjian "Frozen Top Oolong" is the most famous. The degree of withering and greening of bao seeds is relatively mild, and it is mainly produced in Wenshan, Qixingshan, Pinglin, Shiding, Xindian, Shenkeng, Tamsui and other places around Taipei County.
