Because the catfish is too large and there is no unloading force of the fishing rod and reel, it can only be pulled hard by both hands. In order to prevent the disconnection and better unload the force to walk the fish, he slowly followed the direction in which the big fish escaped to the water.
When the water was about to flood the waist, the hook on the other foot also hit a large catfish. Pulled by two big fish, the angler could hardly stand! In desperation, he shouted for help from the anglers in the distance.
Fortunately, the anglers in the distance arrived in time and cut the second fishing line with a knife before the water flooded his chest.
Eventually, with the combined efforts of the two men, the first large catfish was caught ashore. In the original text, it was said that the catfish caught had more than 30 pounds, and as for the one that cut the line and ran away, I don't know!

In the past, although the Yellow River could not reach the "stick and roe deer scoop fish", but the wild fish resources are also very rich! After all, she is our "mother river", the second largest river in China, and one of the birthplaces of Chinese civilization.
However, now our "mother river", wild fish resources have not been as good as before!
Let's look at some data about the "mother river" of the Yellow River:
(1): 30 years ago in the 190s, the Yellow River had a total of 191 species of fish, by about 2010, only 80 kinds of fish were collected in the Yellow River, and the other 100 kinds of original fish were not found, and it is estimated that the fish species decreased by about 60%.
(2): In the early 1950s, the Yellow River fishing team, a ship fishing volume of 600 kg to 1100 kg in a month, the Yellow River carp accounted for about 50%.
In the early 1980s, the same fishing team caught less than 100 catties of Yellow River carp in a single month.
In 2007, the catch of Yellow River carp was less than 1,000 kg.
In 2015, a catering company invested 10,000 yuan to acquire native Yellow River carp, but it was fruitless.
(3): As the second largest river in China, the current annual catch of Yellow River fish is only about 60,000 tons, which is more than 300,000 tons in the 80s, a decrease of almost 80%, accounting for only one thousandth of the country's total catch of 65 million tons!
The above 12 data record the transformation of wild fish resources from rise to decline in the Yellow River in more than 30 years, and even "no fish" can be caught.
The Yellow River – our "Mother River"! Once with simple fishing gear, with rats as bait, you can catch dozens of pounds of giant catfish, but now it has become "fishless" to catch!
In just 30 years, why has her wild fish resources changed so much?

The reason for the rapid decline of wild fish resources in the Yellow River is actually very simple, mainly divided into three aspects: natural change, human greed, and helpless development.
(1): Natural variation
Global warming has led to a decline in rainfall, and the Yellow River Basin is no exception, which makes the Yellow River Basin, which does not have much overall rainfall, even worse.
In most of the middle and upper reaches of the Yellow River Basin, the annual rainfall is west of the 400 mm and other precipitation lines, and the average rainfall over the years is 440 mm, which is only about 40% of the Yangtze River Basin, and the total water resources are less than 7% of the Yangtze River.

(2): Artificial greed
Greed is a human nature, too greedy but let people kill themselves!
In the past, fishing equipment was backward, and when people fished in the Yellow River, there would always be some big fish that slipped through the net. After these big fish spawn, they add vitality to the wild fish resources of the Yellow River.
In addition, the price of wild fish at that time was not high, especially the price of some juvenile small fish was even cheaper, and the small fish were almost unnoticed when they were sold. Most of the fishermen use big-eye nets to catch adult fish, and even if they catch small fish, most of them are released, which also indirectly protects the wild fish resources of the Yellow River.
However, with the impact of the Yellow River and other reasons, the wild fish resources in the Yellow River are becoming less and less, and the wild fish are scarce, making its price more and more high.
Take the famous Yellow River carp, for example: in 30 years, its price has increased by a hundred times! Pure wild Yellow River carp, up to more than 100 yuan a pound, or even more expensive or priceless.
The price of wild fish in the Yellow River has become high, and people's mentality when fishing has changed.
In order to catch more fish and pursue higher interests, greed makes people use fishing nets with smaller meshes, and even "nets" such as electric nets and "ecstasy arrays" are also on the battlefield.
In this way, it is equivalent to drinking and quenching thirst! It has also accelerated the reduction of wild fish resources in the Yellow River.
(3): The helplessness of development
Society is progressing, science and technology, and industry are developing, which brings us convenience at the same time, but also brings environmental and ecological problems.
On both sides of the Yellow River, all kinds of chemical enterprises have been put into operation, and a large part of the industrial waste and sewage discharged by the production and discharge have flowed into the Yellow River and its tributaries, increasing the pollution level of the Yellow River water.
The deterioration of the water quality of the Yellow River directly led to the disappearance of some fish with higher water quality requirements. The remaining other fish also have a decline in physical fitness due to water quality problems, and even lesions, which affects their growth and reproduction.
In addition, the construction of barrages and hydroelectric power stations in the middle and upper reaches of the Yellow River has also hindered the migration and spawning of fish.
Many migratory spawning fish are blocked by dams and power stations and cannot return to the ideal spawning waters, resulting in a significant decline in the amount of eggs produced by fish and the survival rate of eggs, which affects the increase in the number of fish populations.
Of course, the impact of the development of science and technology and industry on fish, and even the impact on the environment, is very helpless! After all, they are opposites between them, and the development of science and technology and industry does bring people a better life, which is a fact that the benefits far outweigh the disadvantages.

Since the wild fish resources of the Yellow River are dwindling, almost reaching the "dilemma" of no fish to catch, how to get out of this "dilemma" and restore the number of wild fish in the Yellow River?
Here, the country has started from three aspects!
(1): Promote ecological protection in the Yellow River Basin
Promoting the ecological protection of the Yellow River Basin is the fundamental place for restoring the wild fish resources of the Yellow River, and it is also the fundamental place for protecting other biological ecosystems in the Yellow River Basin.
For the Yellow River and along the large tributaries, some highly polluting chemical enterprises have been banned, and the waste and sewage of other enterprises have been strictly controlled and treated.
In addition, for the ships running in the Yellow River, systematic planning has also been carried out.
In this way, the water quality and ecological environment of the Yellow River Basin have been improved, and the wild fish in the Yellow River have a better living space.
(2): Use the fishing ban period to protect fish reproduction
From 12:00 on April 1 to 12:00 on June 30 every year, a period of three months is a closed period for fishing in the Yellow River Basin.
During the fishing ban period, the main stream of the Yellow River, the main lakes such as Dongping Lake, Zhaling Lake and Eling Lake, and the main tributaries of the Yellow River such as the Fenhe, Weihe and Luohe rivers are prohibited from all productive fishing activities, and all prohibited fishing and fishing tools are prohibited.
In this way, the use of fish spawning period to implement a ban on fishing effectively protects the spawning roe fish and ensures the number of fish eggs.
(3): Increase stocks by stocking fry
In addition to the above two methods, manual stocking of fry is the fastest and most direct way to increase the number of fish populations! This method is also being applied in the Yangtze River Basin and other large waters.
Over the years, from the relevant departments of the state to the people who love the people, they will regularly or irregularly go to the Yellow River to release fish fry in an organized and scientific manner to increase the number of fish in the Yellow River.
