Incompetence is the worst evaluation of a man, why is Emperor An of Han considered the most incompetent emperor in the history of the Eastern Han Dynasty? Because although Liu Hugui was the king of a country, he was actually a light rod commander, the eunuch did not listen to him, the minister did not listen to him, even the woman next to the bed, he could not control it, the emperor mixed into a small white face.
Why liu hu could be emperor
In 94 AD, the sixth emperor of the Eastern Han Dynasty, Liu Hu (pronounced Hu), was born, his father was Liu Qing, the deposed prince of the Han ZhangDi period, and his mother was zuo Xiao'e. Chinese historians, the description of women, especially the name of women mentioned very little, such as the first empress dowager of the Eastern Han Dynasty, Empress Dou, and the Empress Xuan of the Qin State, all have only one surname, if women want to live for hundreds of years, at least let us know the name, what to do, of course, is to write their own history.
Liu Hu's mother Zuo Xiao'e's uncle was named Zuo Sheng, because he had offended the emperor, along with Zuo Xiao'e's family were raided, and zuo Xiao'e, who was four or five years old, and her sister Zuo Da'e were sent to the palace, and later Emperor Zhang of Han gave the Zuo sisters together to Liu Qing, who was already the king of Qinghe. At that time, the boss behind the Eastern Han Dynasty was Empress Deng, Empress Deng was originally named Deng Sui, the empress of Han and Emperor, Han and Emperor Liu Zhao was a tragedy, married too early, resulting in so many women, and finally only two children survived, the eldest disabled, when Han and the emperor died, the second was born only 100 days, Empress Deng let the baby of more than a hundred days become the fifth emperor of the Eastern Han Dynasty.

At that time, Emperor Hanhe's brother Liu Qing had a son, named Liu Hu, who was only 13 years old, and Liu Qing had been cautious all his life, and he did not have any ambitions, all the conditions were met, well, it was him! On September 21, 106, Liu Hu, who was only 13 years old, officially ascended the throne, becoming the sixth emperor of the Eastern Han Dynasty and a puppet emperor in the hands of Empress Deng and Deng Qi.
Is Emperor Han Really incompetent?
Empress Deng originally chose Liu Hu as emperor for the purpose of making reasonable use of the rules, the dynasty can not be ruled by women, at least nominally, there must be a man, inheriting the royal bloodline. Jiangshan is still surnamed Liu, and this person can not be too smart, no matter how small the child, sooner or later there will be a day of growing up, when he becomes an adult, he thinks of pro-government, his power will be taken away, to put it bluntly, the best candidate is best an idiot.
Let's look at Liu Hu's life, from succeeding to the throne as emperor in 106 to empress dowager Deng's death in 121, the major and minor matters of the whole country were decided by Empress Deng. Empress Yan, also known as Yan Ji, was a famous beauty at that time, in the first year of the Yuan Dynasty (114), according to the rules of the imperial palace draft, Yan Ji was sent to the palace, after which, Emperor Han'an liked it, and in the first year, she was named a noble concubine, and the second year, she was made empress. In short, similar to her predecessors, Empress Yan could not give birth, and the only son who gave birth to Emperor An of Han was the palace maid Li Shi, and her son was the seventh emperor of the Eastern Han Dynasty: Liu Bao. Unfortunately, when Liu Bao was born, Empress Deng was still there, and Empress Yan could not be the lord, so she could only watch Liu Bao being crowned prince, and then grow up day by day, and finally killed Liu Bao's biological mother Li Shi in order to get angry.
In the seemingly peaceful palace, after Empress Deng's death, two major events occurred, both related to Wang Shengge and Empress Yan, who were close to Emperor An of Han:
First of all, it was Wang Sheng, Li Yan, and Jiang Jing who seized power. Although Empress Deng died, but the important positions of the state were in the hands of Empress Deng's brother Deng Xiao (reading zhi), Empress Deng had been the boss for so many years, there must be many political enemies, and as soon as the empress dowager died, Li Yan and Jiang Jing joined forces with these people to begin a revenge action against the Deng family.
When we study history, we can find such a phenomenon, and one of the best excuses for framing others is to intend to rebel, and this big hat basically covers who dies. The intention is to rebel in his heart, what he thinks in his heart, how do you know, so this cannot be said.
As a result, Empress Deng's brothers Deng Wu, Deng Hong, and Deng Luquan were sentenced to death, and Empress Deng's brother, Deng Qi, who is currently the top pillar of the Deng family, was also deposed, driven back to his hometown, and inexplicably framed and died at home.
In this way, the once-popular Deng family fell, and the two eunuchs who contributed the most behind them, Li Yan and Jiang Jing, got the benefits they deserved: Jiang Jing was named the Marquis of Duxiang, li Yan was named the Marquis of Yongxiang, and after the fall of the Deng family, the two eunuchs immediately received the emperor's reward, and it can be seen that the whole incident, which is the mastermind behind the scenes.
The harem of the Eastern Han Dynasty is famous in Chinese history, the harem concubines and eunuchs are a hill, the emperor can only accompany them to play, but in addition to eunuchs and concubines, there is an important political force: the civilian official group, the ultimate mission of these people, is to help the emperor manage the country, in many dynasties, although the emperor as a whole eats, drinks and has fun, free, but the country still runs smoothly, relying on these civil officials who only read the sages.
Obviously, during the Han An Emperor's period, these officials were very unsuccessful, they saw the emperor playing with the eunuchs all day, and they were very anxious, but there was no way, the ministers regarded themselves as loyal subjects, and it was not easy to find someone to become the emperor again, so the only way was: persuasion.
At that time, there was a minister named Yang Zhen, who saw the eunuchs running amok outside, and they could do whatever they wanted, how could this be worthy of their own twenty years of hard reading in the cold window, too arrogant to agree, so they wrote letters to Emperor Han Every day. At first, it was written like this: Your Majesty, your eunuchs are too arrogant outside, or you will take care of them; after writing a few times, I found that the emperor had not responded, and the fire was fired: Your Majesty, if you don't care about these dead demons, you can go up on your own.
Wanting to go up on our own, this is not a rebellion, but also calling us human demons, Li Yan and Jiang Jing were very angry, so they instructed the emperor to directly pull Yang Zhen out and click.
Yang Zhen was a good man with integrity, and he hoped to persuade the emperor through peaceful means, but unfortunately Emperor Han'an did not take him seriously at all.
In this way, the entire imperial court began to quiet down, except for those who were mixed up with a group of eunuchs, other officials, either resigned from their posts and went home to retire, or had been killed, and the eunuchs began a happy life of hugging before and after.
But there was another person who was unhappy, this person was Empress Yan, when Empress Deng was there, she could not be the lord herself, Empress Deng died, she still could not be the lord, and what worried Empress Yan even more was Liu Bao, the only son of Emperor An of Han. In the first year of Yongning (120), Liu Bao was made crown prince, and after Liu Bao's biological mother was blatantly killed by Empress Yan, Liu Bao's eyes changed when she saw her, and Empress Yan could not sleep every day, even if Emperor An of Han died one day, Liu Bao would find himself to settle accounts after becoming emperor.
Therefore, the second major event that happened after Empress Deng's death was the abolition of the crown prince.
Historical experience tells us that the best way to frame a person is to start from his side, such as to overthrow Deng Xiao, the first step is to frame his brothers to break the law, and finally Deng Xiao was deposed and stripped of his knighthood. The same method was used to deal with the prince, or to determine the prince's mother-in-law Wang Nan and the eunuch Feng Ji as plotting rebellion, and incidentally took away Liu Bao's position as crown prince.
The prince is his only son, does Emperor Han An care about anything, well, in the matter of deposing the prince, Emperor Han An still prefers to listen to his wife.
How did Emperor Han Die
After the abolition of the crown prince, Emperor Han An really became a lonely man, the empress eunuch, who was his boss, and could no longer be friends; the ministers, who no longer believed in Emperor Han An, lazily managed him, and the only relative, his son, was unfortunately also driven away by himself.
Liu Hu, the uncaring Emperor of Han' Reign, took Empress Yan on a spring tour in March of the fourth year of Yanguang and died suddenly, and the history books record that he suddenly fell seriously ill and died within a few days, on the tenth day of the first month (that is, April 30, 125). At the time of his death, Emperor An of Han was only 32 years old, and because his death was too sudden, Empress Yan was completely unprepared.
Since Liu Bao was deposed as crown prince, the heir has not yet been determined, and now the emperor has suddenly died, as Liu Hu's only son, if there is no accident, Liu Bao can easily take the throne again. This, how to do it, Liu Bao hated Empress Yan to death, how could he be made emperor.
So Empress Yan plotted with her brother Yan Xian and Jiang Jing and others overnight, and the secret was not mournful, that is, when the emperor was not dead, but seriously ill, what should he do, what should he eat, trotted all the way back to the palace, and after four days, he announced that Emperor Han An was seriously ill and dead.
The emperor is dead, to discuss who to be an emperor, Empress Yan they discussed, Liu Bao must be out of play, casually find one in the royal bloodline, young, so found Emperor Zhang of Han's grandson, The Prince of Hui of Jibei's son Liu Shou Liu Yi (read yi).
However, Liu Yi was also seriously ill within a few months, which was the rhythm of changing the emperor, and Empress Yan and her brother Yan Xian began to look for a new emperor again. This time, Liu Bao did not agree, the emperor took turns to do it, this time how can it be my turn.
So Liu Bao called a group of small eunuchs, first let people close the city gate, and then directly led people into the palace, killing Empress Yan's brothers Yan Xian, Yan Jing, and Yan Yan's brothers, Empress Yan was beaten into the cold palace, and the entire Yan clan rushed back to their hometown. In 125 AD, the year of Emperor An's death, Emperor Liu Bao of Han Shun took the throne.
