Guangxi is a red hot land with glorious revolutionary traditions. In order to excavate, protect and make good use of the precious red historical materials, the Organization Department of the Party Committee of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region spent 3 years to create a 20-episode documentary on revolutionary history, "Red Legend".

In the past three years, the film crew traveled through 16 cities, visited 32 museum archives, traveled 13,140 kilometers, recorded 34,980 minutes of video footage, and interviewed nearly 300 people who witnessed the event or their descendants and authoritative research experts, including interviews with 37 people over the age of 70.
"Red Legend" vividly records the revolutionary history from the establishment of the first party branch in Guangxi from 1925 to 1949 to the liberation of the whole territory of Guangxi. "Wonderful, legendary!" Lu Xinshe, secretary of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region Party Committee, spoke highly of it.
In the second batch of "do not forget the original heart, keep in mind the mission" theme education, Guangxi took advantage of the momentum to push this red epic to colleges and universities, inviting those who witnessed the "Red Legend" event or their descendants, local party history experts, etc. to enter the campus and "face to face" with young college students.

The Battle of the Xiangjiang River was a battle that had a bearing on the life and death of the Central Red Army. In 1934, the Central Red Army fought hard against the Kuomintang troops in Jeonju, Xing'an, and Guanyang in northern Guizhou. The blood of the soldiers stained the XiangJiang River red, and since then there has been a saying that "I will not drink the water of the Xiangjiang River for three years and will not eat the fish of the Xiangjiang River for ten years" in the local area.

According to instructor Tang Meilan, after the school launched the "Red Legend" series of activities into the campus, the students were deeply touched and had the idea of telling the red stories around them in their own way. From selecting story segments, to drawing sample drawings, to folding and cropping, it took the students a full 3 months of spare time to complete this paper cut.
Legacy: Continue to write the Red Legend
The red gene is rooted in the soil dyed red with the blood of the revolutionary martyrs and is passed down in the unremitting struggle of generations of people.
To promote "Red Legend" into the campus is not simply to watch a film, read a book, and sing a red song; but to take this as an opportunity to let red history enter the classroom, let the red spirit inspire strength, and let the red gene integrate into the blood.

Tan San Primary School is located in Tan San Village, Na Liang Town, Fang Cheng Gang City, just across the river from Vietnam. Boundary Pillar 1346 is only a few hundred meters away from the school, and students pass near the boundary monument when they go to and from school.
In the summer of 2001, Huang Yongteng, an off-campus volunteer counselor at Tanshan Primary School, organized a Young Pioneers experience education activity with the theme of "Protecting boundary monuments with the uncle of the border guards", led the establishment of the Red Scarf Boundary Monument Team, and hired 1 border defense soldier to counsel. There are 15 members of the team, divided into 3 boundary monument groups. Although primary school students have graduated one year after another, the Boundary Monument has never been interrupted and has continued for 20 years. In the past 20 years, the boundary monument activities have also been extended from Tanshan Primary School to 6 schools in the surrounding areas, such as Lihuo Primary School and Dahe Primary School, and the content has become more and more abundant, becoming a compulsory course for national defense education in border primary schools.

In the past 20 years, the seeds of patriotism have long taken root in the hearts of border primary school students. "To cultivate students to love the motherland, we must first start from protecting and loving monuments." In the past, some students even thought that the boundary monument was just a stone monument. Later, the students took the initiative to make the pictures of the boundary monuments and the stories of the boundary monuments collected into illustrated pamphlets to publicize the significance of loving and protecting the monuments to the villagers. Huang Yongteng, who is more than 80 years old, has always believed that the experience of participating in the guardianship of boundary monuments in their childhood will be a lifetime of spiritual wealth.
In the red gene map, Guangxi is one of the indispensable genomes, and everyone who lives here contains red genes. To pass on the red gene from generation to generation, it is necessary to sow the red flame into the hearts of the younger generation, so that the red coordinates can firmly anchor the direction of the young generation.
