Since the 1980s, people-to-people exchanges, trade exchanges, and cultural exchanges between the two sides of the strait have become increasingly frequent, relations have continued to develop, and the people on both sides of the strait have been linked by blood, which is in line with the development of the times and the will of the people.
On the other hand, since the founding of New China, Taiwan's intelligence war against the mainland has never stopped, and with the changes in the international environment, the means of Taiwan spies have become more and more secretive. Many Taiwan businessmen have come to the mainland to do business, and some spies have also taken refuge in it, infiltrating the mainland under the cover of being businessmen, and Li Yunbo, colonel of Taiwan's "Military Intelligence Bureau," is one of them.

After coming to the mainland, Li Yunbo set up a company called "Nanjing Like Medical Research and Consulting Department". The company recruited many veterans in the name of its business, and for this reason received the honorary title of "Veterans' Home".
However, the company is only a cover for Li Yunbo, and its contribution to society is also false, and all Li Yunbo wants is to spy on intelligence. Recruiting veterans is exactly his means, and his purpose is to find his "prey" from veterans and develop the downline. Li Yunbo quickly found a target, Xu Mou, who had retired from the Air Force.
In order to win over Xu, Li Yunbo began to promote him continuously, and often cared for Xu in his private name. Imagine that when the boss looks at you differently, in addition to promoting you to see you as a confidant, but also treating you as a brother, most people will react with gratitude.
Seeing that the time was almost up, Li Yunbo found an opportunity to reveal his true identity to Xu, and promised that as long as he followed him, the future interests would not be a problem. Although Xu was surprised, at this time he was bound by "profit" and "righteousness", and instead of reporting Li Yunbo, he was loyal to Li Biao.
In the 90s, the reform and opening up time was not long, many people were not alert to acts that endangered national security, and under the temptation of spending the world outside, they did not realize that this was a criminal act, and Xu Mou was a typical representative.
Li Yunbo was well aware of the weaknesses of human nature, and his first step was successful.
Xu is not Li Yunbo's real target, just a pedal. Although Xu became a traitor, he has retired and does not provide much valuable information. Li Yunbo cares about his connections, Xu mou, who has served in the Air Force, has many old colleagues and old superiors who are still in office, and these are the people that Li Yunbo really values.
Through Xu, Li Yunbo gradually came into contact with his old superior, Liu Guangzhi, who was the director of the Air Force Command College at the time and held the rank of major general. For this businessman who recruited veterans, Liu Guangzhi did not have much defense. Xu became friends with Liu Guangzhi through simple means such as inviting guests to dinner and sending gifts, and Liu Guangzhi believed that this Taiwan businessman was righteous and generous, and it was worth making friends.
Seeing that Liu Guangzhi was gradually hooked, Li Yunbo began to ask some questions related to the training of trainees consciously or unconsciously as "training company employees". Li Yunbo behaved very cunningly, he always pointed to the end, never asked deeply, let Liu Guangzhi unconsciously answer his own questions in the middle of the staggering of chips.
We can see that Li Yunbo's wrist is very shrewd, and he first makes enough preparations for his own purposes, so that Liu Guangzhi thinks that he is only worried about the company's affairs and gradually lifts his guard.
Until one day, Li Yunbo asked Liu Guangzhi whether he could provide a study plan for the college so that he could better train his employees. At the same time, Li Yunbo also said that even friends could not let Liu Guangzhibai help. Liu Guangzhi felt that the study plan was not classified, and many leaders and teachers in the college could get it. Moreover, he ate people's soft mouths and took people's hands short, his trust in Li Yunbo had long been established, it was better to sell his personal feelings to Li, and he could also get some benefits, so he gave Li Yunbo a study plan for the Air Force Command College.
What shocked him was that Li Yunbo actually gave him 200,000 yuan as a reward. At that time, 200,000 yuan was not a small amount, and this money made Liu Guangzhi feel a little hot, but he thought that he was only giving a study plan that seemed to be of little value, and he could get such a huge amount of money, Liu Guangzhi was still moved, and he accepted the money.
This is Li Yunbo's next move, he spent a lot of money to buy a lower-value learning plan, and the relationship between him and Liu Guangzhi changed, from "friends" to mutual use. Liu Guangzhi's identity determined that he had access to confidential information, and once this relationship was established, Li Yunbo could begin to really start working.
Li Yunbo revealed his true face, and he began to ask Liu Guangzhi for some top-secret information. Liu Guangzhi knew the value of this information, and he refused. But at this time, Li Yunbo showed a vicious face, and he threatened to expose Liu Guangzhi's leak and collect remuneration. At this point, Liu Guangzhi's handle had been pinched in his hand, and he had no choice but to act according to Li Yunbo's requirements.
In order to appease Liu Guangzhi, Li Yunbo played the interest card again. He promised Liu Guangzhi that the price of the information he would provide would be doubled; as soon as there was any sign of danger, he would be sent to leave the mainland and provide strict protection, and the "Military Intelligence Bureau" would also be responsible for all kinds of expenses after arriving in Taiwan.
Liu Guangzhi compromised, and he fell deeper and deeper on this road, becoming a traitor completely.
Liu Guangzhi's abnormal behavior aroused the high vigilance of the security department, and he traced li Yunbo from his relevant contacts and began to investigate the "Nanjing Lilike Medical Research and Consulting Department". After careful reconnaissance, Li Yunbo and his intelligence officers were locked. In March 2003, Liu Guangzhi, Li Yunbo and his intelligence chain were wiped out. Li Yunbo served as a colonel in Taiwan's "Military Intelligence Bureau, with a relatively high rank; through Li Yunbo, the security department shunteng touched the melon and arrested a series of Taiwan spies.
Ironically for the Taiwan authorities, Li Yunbo regarded espionage as his way of making money. After one of his "group leaders" interrupted his activities, Li Yunbo did not remove his name from the salary list, but continued to eat empty pay in his name, which totaled more than 500,000 yuan. In addition, Li Yunbo also withdrew more than NT$1.5 million from the "Military Intelligence Agency" in the name of falsely reporting "activity funds" and developing false "downlines", and these funds also flowed into his own pockets.
Liu Guangzhi's case leaked a lot of state secret information, and his defection allowed Taiwan to learn some of the classified information on our missile deployment, which encouraged the arrogance of the Chen Shui-bian authorities and brought about a greater impact.
After review, in June 2004, the Military Court of the people's liberation army of the Chinese sentenced Liu Guangzhi to death for endangering national security, deprived of his political rights for life, and executed on the date of sentencing.
Looking at the Liu Guangzhi case from the beginning, along with the changes in the cross-strait situation and the international environment, a conspicuous change shown by the Taiwan authorities in their espionage activities is that they have abandoned the espionage operations that were previously characterized by sabotage activities and have instead focused on collecting military, political, and economic intelligence on the mainland. After the reform and opening up, Taiwan spies began to use the identity of "Taiwan businessmen" as a cover to engage in their own espionage activities.
Li Yunbo's means are not so clever, it is nothing more than to reduce people's vigilance through money to open the way, step by step to grasp the handle of the target, and then to use coercion to induce people to obey.
The Liu Guangzhi case is a wake-up call for us, and it reminds us that it is some seemingly ordinary communication activities that make people lose their vigilance. What a deplorable thing it is for Taiwan spies to take advantage of this step by step to co-opt and corrupt them, so that people who are not subjectively willing to betray the country objectively become sinners.
As the CCTV network said- "I advise Taiwan spies not to treat goodwill as incompetent, and the mainland's espionage activities against Taiwan are like a fire." More importantly, it is hoped that the Chinese people will strengthen the concept of national security, and there are still undercurrents in peacetime. Tightening the string of national security at all times is not a slogan, but must be practiced with practical actions, and it is a lesson that everyone should make up for by raising awareness of prevention, improving the ability to distinguish, and strengthening the concept of national security. ”
