Speaking of Riharajuku, everyone will first think of big names such as Fujiwara Hiroshi and NIGO, and then there may be people such as Takahashi Shield. However, Miyashita Takahiro, a design wizard whose ability does not lose to Takahashi's shield, is often overlooked. So what is the origin of Miyashita Takahiro?

Takahiro Miyashita was born in Tokyo in 1973 and worked as a clothing planner and comprador for a clothing company. Like most Satharajuku designers, Takahiro Miyashita was fascinated by rock 'n'roll, so he founded his own brand, Number (N)ine, in the fall of 1996. And the Number (N)Ine name is precisely from the classic song Number Nine from Beatles. However, Takahiro Miyashita did not come from a scientific background, he designed it entirely by relying on his own understanding of clothing.
Number(N)ine's design mixes subcultural elements such as punk and rock, coupled with Takahiro Miyashita's own unique aesthetic, making Number(N)ine stand out among the brands. Takuya Kimura's upper body helped Number(N)ine, and in 2004 Takahiro Miyashita took Number(N)ine to the stage of Paris Fashion Week and began his own legendary road!
Number(N)ine's peak was the 2009 season, and the entire series used a lot of deconstructive, destructive techniques, and based on the dresses of European aristocrats, giving people a decadent, degenerate aristocratic image.
At the same time, 2009 is also the last season of Number(N)Ine. After the press conference, Miyashita closed Number(N)ine. Part of this is due to Miyashita's physical problems. Of course, the 2008 financial crisis also had a significant impact on this. After a period of recuperation, Miyashita re-established a new brand called The Soloist in July 2010.
Compared with TheUmber(N)ine, The Soloist's design style has been adjusted to some extent. Overall, Miyashita's methods of deconstruction and destruction are more radical than before. The structure of a piece of clothing is designed to be more complex and conceptual.
If you carefully compare the works of Takahiro Miyashita and other Japanese designers of the same period, you will find that Miyashita's design talent is beyond the reach of others, and may only be equal to Takahashi Shield. But why is Miyashita Takahiro's popularity far less than others?
I think this has a lot to do with Takahiro Miyashita's personality. Miyashita rarely faces the media and is not good at words, and the outside world knows very little about his life, which is in stark contrast to people such as Takahashi Dun who are often active in social circles. This is actually a very bad thing for a designer. So in recent years, Miyashita Takahiro himself seems to have noticed the seriousness of the problem, so he began to promote his brand and design on social media, which will play a very important role in promoting the development of the brand in the future.
Takahiro Miyashita has the spirit of a Japanese craftsman, and he is committed to doing a good job, but not pursuing fame and fortune too much. This also allows Today's Soloist to constantly bring us new surprises and new feelings.
