Huang Hailin was born in Meizhou in 1979, and from the age of six, he began to learn chess and entered the Meizhou city team at the age of seven.

In 1996, at the age of seventeen, Huang Hailin became the main player of the national team competition, and entered the top sixteen in the individual competition that year, winning the title of master.

In 1999, Huang Hailin, who was in his 20-year-old weak crown youth, won the National Masters Championship, which is equivalent to that of a grandmaster, but for some reason it has not risen.
