Latest news: Xu Benyu, who moved China's Person of the Year in 2004 and was born in April 1982, has been promoted to the party secretary and chairman of the federation of social sciences in Yichang City, Hubei Province.

Yichang Federation of Social Sciences (hereinafter referred to as Yichang Federation of Social Sciences) is a social science academic mass organization under the leadership of the Yichang Municipal Party Committee and the Municipal Government of the Communist Party of China, and is the bridge and link between the party and the government and the vast number of social science workers.
According to the official website, on June 22, the Yichang Federation of Social Sciences held a cadre meeting to read out the decision of the municipal party committee, and Comrade Xu Benyu was transferred from the deputy secretary of the Zigui County Party Committee to the secretary and chairman of the party group of the Yichang Federation of Social Sciences.
Xu Benyu was born in April 1982 in Liaocheng, Shandong Province, and went to Guizhou to teach while studying at Huazhong Agricultural University. In July 2003, he was admitted to his alma mater as a publicly-funded graduate student, but he has been worried about the children in Guizhou and decided to give up the opportunity to study in graduate school and return to Guizhou to support teaching.
He has won the honorary titles of "Moving China" Person of the Year in 2004, The May Fourth Medal of Chinese Youth, China's Top Ten Outstanding Volunteers, and Outstanding Communist Party Member of Hubei Province.
In May 2008, Xu Benyu stayed at the school as deputy secretary of the Youth League Committee, and then went to work in the Hubei Provincial Party Committee of the Youth League, and in December 2017, he was reappointed deputy secretary of the Zigui County Party Committee until this new appointment.
