The 2022 NBA season is almost here, and the preseason has already begun. Based on what we saw last year, the upcoming season is going to be very exciting. The main reason is that there are many NBA superstars who have incredible talent in their positions. One of the NBA's biggest spots right now is point guard, because there's a whole bunch of players who can score and assist at an elite level.

Looking ahead to the 20221-2022 NBA season, it's time to rank the league's top 10 point guards. The rankings are based on the results of work over the past few seasons, the success of a career, and (most importantly) expectations for the upcoming season. We're likely to see one of the NBA's top stars grow, challenging the greatest goalscorer of all time in the point guard position, and starting with the first game of the regular season, it's going to be a fun to watch.

<h1 class="pgc-h-arrow-right" data-track="76" > Honorable Mention: Darlon Fox</h1>

The NBA's top ten point guards for the 2021-2022 season, Stephen Curry is still the best honorable mention: Darlon Fox 10. Ja-Morant 9. JU HOLLIDAY8. Trae Young 7. Russell-Westbrook 6. Ben Simmons 5. Kyrie Owen 4. Chris Paul 3. Damian Lillard 2. Luka Doncic 1. Stephen Curry

Daron Fox is a special point guard because of his speed. Fox has a talent for explosive acceleration and can run from one end of the court to the other in a matter of seconds. There's no doubt that the 6'3" point guard is the Kings' core player, and he's still getting better.

Fox averaged 25.2 points and 7.2 assists last year; for a 23-year-old up-and-coming superstar, it's clear all-Star stats. If Fox continues to improve his outside shooting (32.6 percent for his career), we'll see an NBA top 10 guard with incredible technical and athleticism.

The NBA's top ten point guards for the 2021-2022 season, Stephen Curry is still the best honorable mention: Darlon Fox 10. Ja-Morant 9. JU HOLLIDAY8. Trae Young 7. Russell-Westbrook 6. Ben Simmons 5. Kyrie Owen 4. Chris Paul 3. Damian Lillard 2. Luka Doncic 1. Stephen Curry

Ja-Morant has been compared to Russell Westbrook for his insane athleticism, and in many ways Morant has a chance to be better than Westbrook because of his jump shot. The Grizzlies franchiser has reached a career three-point shooting percentage of 31.7 percent, a number that surpasses Westbrook's career shooting percentage.

Morant is explosive, confident, and sometimes dominant. That's why the 22-year-old took Memphis into the playoffs in his second season, and we should see him fight for an All-Star spot in the West in 2022. But it's not easy for this young man to do that.

The explosive defender is getting better and better every year, but now the West has a lot of talent in his position. That's why Morant is just the tenth best point guard in the league, though his potential could lift him to the top five in due course. Expect the Memphis Grizzlies player to improve as he will rise by the end of the year.

The NBA's top ten point guards for the 2021-2022 season, Stephen Curry is still the best honorable mention: Darlon Fox 10. Ja-Morant 9. JU HOLLIDAY8. Trae Young 7. Russell-Westbrook 6. Ben Simmons 5. Kyrie Owen 4. Chris Paul 3. Damian Lillard 2. Luka Doncic 1. Stephen Curry

NBA champion Juju Holliday is one of the league's least valued stars as he adds impressive offensive play to his iron gate defense. Averaging 17.7 points, 4.5 rebounds and 6.1 assists, the Bucks eventually became an NBA champion last season.

Holliday was equally valuable in the playoffs, with his stats reaching 17.3PPG and 8.7APG while playing some sensational defense. Even in 23 games in the playoffs, the guard struggled on the perimeter (40.6% FG and 30.3% 3-PT FG), he always found a way to play.

It's truly a hallmark of All-Star talent, especially as a third offensive point behind Antetokounmpo and Chris Middleton. Many questioned Milwaukee's decision to buy Holliday last year, but it eventually paid off. Holliday is part of the Milwaukee Big Three, which is why he's the NBA's top 10 point guard.

The NBA's top ten point guards for the 2021-2022 season, Stephen Curry is still the best honorable mention: Darlon Fox 10. Ja-Morant 9. JU HOLLIDAY8. Trae Young 7. Russell-Westbrook 6. Ben Simmons 5. Kyrie Owen 4. Chris Paul 3. Damian Lillard 2. Luka Doncic 1. Stephen Curry

Trae Young is a superstar offensive player who will continue to get better and better year after year. Thanks to the point guard's play and leadership, the Atlanta Hawks reached the Eastern Conference Finals last season, and there should be no reason the team can't achieve that goal again.

In just three seasons, Young has averaged 24.1 points and 8.9 assists, and the 23-year-old is just getting started. In the 2021 playoffs, he averaged 28.8 points and 9.5 assists, which is a remarkable number for such a player.

In terms of outside shooting and handling, Young could be the next Stephen Curry, which means we could see a rise of Hall of Fame talent in due course. But until then, Young was still outside the top five in the league in his position.

<h1 class="pgc-h-arrow-right" data-track="72" >7</h1>

The NBA's top ten point guards for the 2021-2022 season, Stephen Curry is still the best honorable mention: Darlon Fox 10. Ja-Morant 9. JU HOLLIDAY8. Trae Young 7. Russell-Westbrook 6. Ben Simmons 5. Kyrie Owen 4. Chris Paul 3. Damian Lillard 2. Luka Doncic 1. Stephen Curry

Russell Westbrook is somehow underrated because he sometimes makes the game look easy, but that doesn't mean he's not an NBA top 10 point guard. Once again, Westbrook averaged 22.2 points, 11.5 rebounds and 11.7 assists last season, another triple-double per game.

There's no reason Westbrook not to release similar numbers again this year, though the future Hall of Famer will be judged based on his performance in the playoffs. If Westbrook can win a championship with the Lakers, he will take his historical status to another level.

Westbrook is no. 7 in the NBA because there are really outstanding players right now in their prime. In a few months, the triple-double guru will also turn 33, which means we may start to see his decline.

<h1 class="pgc-h-arrow-right" data-track="71" >6</h1>

The NBA's top ten point guards for the 2021-2022 season, Stephen Curry is still the best honorable mention: Darlon Fox 10. Ja-Morant 9. JU HOLLIDAY8. Trae Young 7. Russell-Westbrook 6. Ben Simmons 5. Kyrie Owen 4. Chris Paul 3. Damian Lillard 2. Luka Doncic 1. Stephen Curry

Regardless of how critics evaluate Ben Simmons' character and lack of improvement as a shooter, this man is a unique talent. The 6'11-inch point guard hit the ball at great speed, and apart from jump shots and free throws, he performed at an elite level in everything he did on the pitch.

Simmons shot the worst free throw percentage in NBA history last year in the playoffs, but that shouldn't completely erase his advantage as a defender and gamer. Simmons averages 14.3 points, 7.2 rebounds and 6.9 assists, so we should see that number rise wherever he plays next season.

No one knows where Simmons will end up going, but there's no doubt he can make it to the All-Star Team when he's playing to his strengths. He's never been in tune with Joel Embiid in Philadelphia, but that shouldn't affect his talent as an all-around superstar.

<h1 class="pgc-h-arrow-right" data-track="70" >5</h1>

The NBA's top ten point guards for the 2021-2022 season, Stephen Curry is still the best honorable mention: Darlon Fox 10. Ja-Morant 9. JU HOLLIDAY8. Trae Young 7. Russell-Westbrook 6. Ben Simmons 5. Kyrie Owen 4. Chris Paul 3. Damian Lillard 2. Luka Doncic 1. Stephen Curry

There is no doubt that Kyrie Irving is the top five points guard in the game. Even when his ability to stay focused and healthy is questioned, Carey can sometimes win the Brooklyn race on his own. The future Hall of Famer is a superstar talent who, despite not having his mind out of the game for much of the year, still averaged 26.9 points per game.

Keep in mind that Irving was the one who shot the winning three-pointer in the 2016 Finals, so he's a player who will be scared that teams will change to in the next playoffs.

When he's on the court, Carey can actually play like the top 3 point guards in the NBA and can take over the game himself. Playing alongside Kevin Durant and James Harden (a combined 7-pointer) would reduce his ball, but Irving could be the best offensive third option in NBA history.

<h1 class="pgc-h-arrow-right" data-track="69" >4</h1>

The NBA's top ten point guards for the 2021-2022 season, Stephen Curry is still the best honorable mention: Darlon Fox 10. Ja-Morant 9. JU HOLLIDAY8. Trae Young 7. Russell-Westbrook 6. Ben Simmons 5. Kyrie Owen 4. Chris Paul 3. Damian Lillard 2. Luka Doncic 1. Stephen Curry

Chris Paul continues to add to his incredible historical standing. Paul signed with the Suns, and the team had a completely different identity. Former players constantly praised Paul's abilities as a leader as he made the people around him better. Not to mention, Chris Paul is a natural winner.

The Suns lost in the Finals last year, but that doesn't mean their title-winning hopes are completely closed. DeAndre Ayton is only 23 years old, Devin Booker is only 24 years old, and Chris Paul is still playing all-Star level. If Chris Paul can somehow win an NBA title, we could see a top three-point guard of all time.

But for now, CP3 is a Hall of Famer, and his leadership alone will get him into the top five. He's got Devon Booker and DeAndre Ayton playing like All-Stars, so Phoenix will be one of the teams to watch next season.

The NBA's top ten point guards for the 2021-2022 season, Stephen Curry is still the best honorable mention: Darlon Fox 10. Ja-Morant 9. JU HOLLIDAY8. Trae Young 7. Russell-Westbrook 6. Ben Simmons 5. Kyrie Owen 4. Chris Paul 3. Damian Lillard 2. Luka Doncic 1. Stephen Curry

Damian Lillard is an offensive superstar who can score the ball whenever he wants. Lee managed to average 28.8 games last season and shot 39.1 percent from three-point range, making him a threat as soon as he walked through the half. The only problem was his lack of team success.

Portland tried to build a competitive team around Lillard, but the Competition in the Western Conference was too fierce. Multiple first-round exits have demoralized Portland slightly, and losing Carmelo Anthony could be a bit of a sting.

Still, the 31-year-old superstar will be in the top three slots in the competition and will likely be surrounded by trade rumors throughout the season.

<h1 class="pgc-h-arrow-right" data-track="67" >2</h1>

The NBA's top ten point guards for the 2021-2022 season, Stephen Curry is still the best honorable mention: Darlon Fox 10. Ja-Morant 9. JU HOLLIDAY8. Trae Young 7. Russell-Westbrook 6. Ben Simmons 5. Kyrie Owen 4. Chris Paul 3. Damian Lillard 2. Luka Doncic 1. Stephen Curry

Luka Doncic is not only the Mavericks' point guard, but also the heart of everything they do. There's no player who can carry a heavy responsibility every night like Luca, because he's been keeping a lottery team running. Dallas improved slightly after signing top scorers Reggie Bullock and Sterling Brown, but Luca needed more.

Still, Doncic will be the MVP candidate from the start of the season. The Slovenian averaged 27.7 points, 8.0 rebounds and 8.6 assists when leading the Mavericks into the playoffs. In the first round against the Los Angeles Clippers, Doncic averaged an astonishing 35.7 points, 7.9 rebounds and 10.3 assists per game after averaging 40 minutes per game.

Luca has proven he can win a series on his own in the playoffs, so he's just one person behind and earned the title of NBA's Best Point Guard. If the Slovenian can get the help he needs from Kristaps Porzingis next season, Dallas could be a top-four team in the Western Conference.

<h1 class="pgc-h-arrow-right" data-track="62" >1</h1>

The NBA's top ten point guards for the 2021-2022 season, Stephen Curry is still the best honorable mention: Darlon Fox 10. Ja-Morant 9. JU HOLLIDAY8. Trae Young 7. Russell-Westbrook 6. Ben Simmons 5. Kyrie Owen 4. Chris Paul 3. Damian Lillard 2. Luka Doncic 1. Stephen Curry

Will there be anyone else? Stephen Curry just missed the playoffs last year but still leads the league with a 32.0 points per game, the highest score of his career. As Klay Thompson returned to form, the Golden State Warriors re-emerged as title contenders.

At its core is Stephen Curry, the greatest shooter in NBA history. Curry averaged 42.1 percent from three-point range and 91.6 percent from the free throw line last season, data we can expect in the upcoming season. At some point next season, Curry will turn 34, so time is crucial when it comes to claiming more honors.

The 6'3- point guard master, when he's in a rhythm, is simply undefendable and largely the best player in his position. If the Warriors can get back to championship form, Curry has a chance to enter the MVP competition and the scoring king competition, which is also a testament to his greatness.
