Lakers forward Carmelo Anthony recently gave a podcast interview about former Knicks president Phil Jackson.
Speaking about his experience playing in the Knicks, Anthony said: "There's nothing better than that, that's what I've always told people. Nothing you see or experience is nothing until you're in the middle of a noisy garden arena. When it comes alive, there is no better place in the world than it. For me, it was my home every game night. ”
When asked what one of the things he wanted to change in his Knicks career was, Anthony said, "It's the way things are handled, how I'm treated personally, and I'm going to want to change that." I wish they had communicated with me more than happened at the time. When Phil arrived, he cut me off the connection between me and the management and the team staff, and even between the players. I felt, 'You talk to him about me, you find him, talk to him about another person.' But I'm here. Once I knew he was playing this trick, I thought, 'This doesn't work.' ’”
Asked if he had considered reaching a settlement with Jackson, Anthony said: "No, I don't need a settlement. I kept my position during that time. That's how you feel about me, and you've said what you're going to say about me. I know if I sat down with you (Jackson) for an interview, you wouldn't say that. You will say something completely different. You'll tell me something like, 'Oh, things don't look like that.' I don't have much time to do that, it's over, I don't need that. ”
