According to New York Times reporter Marc Stein, Spurs legend Tim Duncan has resigned as a full-time assistant coach.
Duncan, 44, who served as an assistant coach under Gregg Popovich last season, is expected to return to his retired role, showing regular appearances in the team's training gym to help develop the Spurs' young players, according to the Times.
Duncan first served as "head coach" in March, when Popovich missed the Spurs vs. Hornets for personal reasons. In that game, the Spurs beat the Hornets 104-103.
That night, when asked if he wanted to be manager in the future, Duncan replied: "No, Bobo will be back, and I'm glad to give this task back to him." ”
