Prisoners who have completed their sentences

After working in prison for decades and managing countless female prisoners, in addition to remembering that they were all women, most of the appearances and stories gradually faded from my memory, but in a certain environment, I occasionally remembered a certain person who had been in charge, and a particularly impressive thing.
I can't remember exactly what year it was, but I remember that it was a sunny winter, and the woman had completed her sentence that day. I can't remember what happened to her and how many years she spent in prison, but I still remember her smile.
In the days before she was on duty, she would come up to me and talk to herself, about her son, about her new life (prisoners call her "freshman") after she was released. Every time she talks, she always smiles and asks me: What do you think?
The impression is that she has always belonged to a prisoner who behaves very positively but does not say much, until she is about to complete her sentence, and she has never committed any major crimes, so she has always paid silent attention to her, never thinking that there will be any different stories between her and her.
However, no matter who it is, as long as they have been together for a long time, whether it is good or bad, they will have certain feelings. For more than a month before her new life, she always took the initiative to come to me to chat, at first it was just a need at work, I had to listen to her talk, but when I talked, I found that she was different.
She said she has been letting her family tell her son that she is studying abroad and cannot go home, that she has a monthly family phone call, and that in a limited time, she also plays the role of a "study abroad" mother, and she says that she does not know how to face her son when she returns.
People who are in prison attach great importance to everything on the day of the new life. In the process of chatting, I knew that she did not tell her family what day she would be able to go home, but only said the approximate time, she said that after going out, she would pack herself up and go back to see her family.
Newborn prisoners, out of prison on the same day can no longer wear prison uniforms, many female prisoners will calculate the date of their new life, will tell their families a long time in advance, what kind of clothes and shoes and socks to bring to the prison door to pick up.
But she didn't tell her family anything, and I asked her what she was wearing on the day of the new life. She smiled and said: The clothes she wore when she came in were still there, but it was just a spring and autumn coat.
One day off, I took my children to go shopping, and I came across a women's clothing store selling a fire sale, and the shelves in front of the store were full of clothes, and a short black jacket hanging at the front, a ring of hair at the neckline, swaying in the cold winter wind, made me feel like it was beckoning to me.
I suddenly remembered the female prisoner who was about to be reborn. Looking at the price tag, if lunch and my children only eat snacks, the money saved can be just enough to buy and sell this cotton jacket after the discount.
On the day of the female prisoner's new life, it happened to be my main class, and I took the new cotton jacket and walked up to her, who was only wearing a Spring and Autumn coat, and asked her to take off her coat and put on the new cotton jacket. She was stunned for a moment, and in the blink of an eye, she burst into tears, and she usually talked a lot when chatting with me, but at that time she couldn't say a word.
The dress seemed to have been specially tailored for her and fitted perfectly. The person relied on clothes and horses to saddle, and just a black coat made her whole temperament change. In the stunned eyes of the female prisoners around her, she bowed her head and walked silently to the prison gate with red eyes.
Her back walked into the winter morning, the artificial fur on the neckline of the black cotton jacket, jumping in the sun. She didn't look back, didn't say goodbye, and left me with a black back.
