Spark of fire| Liu Zhidan too white to collect the gun, Zhi Yong double full "hit the snake first seven inches"

Source: People's Liberation Army Daily

In 1930, Chiang Kai-shek fought a great war in the Central Plains with Yan Xishan and others, which caused deep disasters to the people. The turbulent society increased popular discontent, and warlords fought to contain and deplete the strength of the Kuomintang ruling clique. This situation provided favorable conditions for the further development of the Red Army and the revolutionary war, and the Shaanxi Provisional Party Committee of the CPC instructed the Shaanxi Northern Special Committee to take "organizing mutinies" and "expanding the Red Army" as the central task. This article describes a successful example of Liu Zhidan's military movement work, from understanding the intentions of his superiors, making up his mind to fight, to organizing and implementing on the spot, and vividly showing Liu Zhidan's full image of wisdom and courage that is well thought-out, planned and then moved, and that he plans and goes with the flow, and makes a quick decision, and "fights the snake before hitting seven inches". After the success of this gun collection operation, Liu Zhidan formed a Red Army armed force on this basis and carried out guerrilla warfare in the areas of Heshui, Bao'an, and Ansai, and the ranks grew rapidly, making contributions to the development of the Chinese revolution.

Yongning Mountain was the political, economic, and cultural center of the Kuomintang reactionaries in Bao'an County (present-day Zhidan County), and the county government was located on this hill. An important stronghold of the Chinese Communist Party's underground activities in the Shaanxi and Gansu border areas is also on this mountain.

Dusk on September 14, 1930. Cao Liru, the head of the Kuomintang militia in YongningShan, Bao'an County (one of the responsible persons of the CPC branch in Yongningshan), sat at the Kang table, looking at several letters asking him about Liu Zhidan, and said to himself:

"Why haven't you heard the news yet?"

Suddenly, there was a shout outside the door: "Report! Cao Liru raised his head, and a tuanding who was standing guard stood straight in front of him and said:

"There's a guy out there who wants to see the general manager."

Cao Liru vigilantly put away the letter and asked:

"What kind of person is it?"

"Dressed in a blue cloth with a straw hat on his head, medium-sized, thin, deep eye sockets, a high nose, he looks like he is in his twenties, and his accent resembles a local."

Cao Liru smiled and thought to himself: It must be Comrade Liu Zhidan, this new Tuan Ding does not know him. Busy says:

"Invite him in!"

Cao Liru hurriedly got off the ground, ran out first, took Liu Zhidan's hand and smiled:

"Dude, I'm counting you, and you're here." It's really said that wind is rain. ”

Liu Zhidan smiled: "Rain is rain, it is not timely." ”

Liu Zhidan entered the door and threw the straw hat on the table and sat on the edge of the kang. Cao Liru took out several letters from the file box and handed them to Liu Zhidan. Liu Zhidan leaned on the Kang table, holding his forehead horn in his left hand, and flipped through letters from comrades who were doing military movement work in Ningxia, Yulin, Yan'an, and other places.

Two old friends have been separated for a long time, and there are endless words. They talked about how to continue the work of the military movement in the future.

Liu Zhidan said: "The purpose of the party's request for us to carry out military movement work is to organize our own armed forces. According to the experience of Comrade Mao Zedong and Comrade Zhu De in arming in the south, it is proved that revolutionary armed forces must be formed and grown in armed struggle against counter-revolution. We must take advantage of the current emptiness of the enemy's forces on the border, aim at the target, resolutely eliminate them, mobilize our own armed forces, and fight guerrillas..."

"However, people and guns can't do much for a while!"

Liu Zhidan pondered for a while and said word by word:

"Grab it wherever you can." Two months ago, Lu Company Commander, Liu Company Commander, and Lao Yang, who were engaged in military movement work in the Sixth Battalion of the Longdong Militia Regiment Cavalry, can be found back! Those who are engaged in revolution cannot do without making up their minds! Surrounded by these counter-revolutionary forces, why don't we think of getting him first? He pondered for a while, then stared at Cao Liru and asked, "These vigilante groups around, which situation do we know more?" Which weapon is better? ”

"In comparison, the situation of the Taibai militia is still more understood. It is said that they all moved from the village to the street and lived in a very scattered place. After the militia was reorganized into the Twenty-fourth Battalion of the Longdong Militia Regiment, it extorted more grain from the common people, and I heard that several ordinary people were killed recently..."

Talking about the middle of the night, Cao Liru sent Liu Zhidan to another house to sleep.

In the morning, Cao Liru walked into the room where Liu Zhidan lived and saw cigarette butts thrown on the ground. Liu Zhidan's clothes were neatly dressed, his hands were coiled on his chest, and he leaned on the luo circle chair. A pair of contemplative eyes stared at the opposite wall.

"Did you sleep well last night?" Cao Liru said in a kind tone.

Liu Zhidan turned his head and smiled at Cao Liru, picked up two empty boxes of Hadmen cigarettes and said:

"That's what I got from last night, and I gave you a night on duty..."

Before the meeting, seven or eight comrades, including Commander Lu, Commander Liu Company, and Ma Fuji, gathered at the Yongning Mountain League Bureau. There were also four or five comrades, including He Yanlong and Wei Youmin, who had come to find Liu Zhidan from Yichuan, Yan'an, and Wayaobao. Liu Zhidan discussed with these comrades how to engage in arming. It just so happened that Old Yang also returned from Qingyang. He said to Liu Zhidan:

"After escaping from danger in Sandaochuan, I fled to Qingyang and met Tan Shilin, commander of the Longdong Militia Regiment. Tan Shilin also pretended to be benevolent and righteous, saying that if he wanted me to 'recruit' you back, he would still serve as the commander of the sixth battalion of his cavalry. He knew nothing about the mutiny of the Sixth Battalion of our cavalry; at the same time, he also summoned the deputy of the Wang Camp of the Twenty-fourth Battalion of the Longdong Militia Regiment and told him in person to assist in this matter. Vice President Wang Ying also flattered that he had heard you speak and admired you very much. ”

After Liu Zhidan listened to Lao Yang's words, he was silent for a while, and then he smiled and said to Lao Yang:

"'Beckoning'? See who 'beckons' whom! Old Yang, we have been worried about not being able to get them these two days, but you have brought us a way. He turned back to Cao Liru and said, "Liru, everything is ready, only the East Wind is owed!" There are objects, and there are methods. ”

Everyone discussed for a long time, and the next day, Cao Liru reported this plan to the party branch for study. Deciding to make a plan, he sent Lao Yang to Taibai Town to inform Huang Yulin, the commander of the twenty-fourth battalion, to prepare grain and grass, and the sixth battalion of cavalry came later. Stabilize the enemy first.

Liu Zhidan and other comrades gathered their men and horses separately to hoard grain and grass. They managed to draw some guns and horses from the Yongning Mountain Militia Regiment and the Public Security Bureau, and together with the comrades brought from all over the country, they put together a total of twenty long and short guns and more than twenty war horses. In addition, some military uniforms and flags were also made.

After two days, the men and horses were aligned. At two o'clock in the evening, Liu Zhidan quietly set out from Yongning Mountain with a cavalry force of more than twenty people (including more than ten Communists). Before dawn, we reached the Baisha River, which is forty miles away from Yongning Mountain.

Shirasagawa, a large town in ancient times, has experienced the devastation of the war of generations, and now only a few poor people live there. The surrounding forest is dense, and in previous years, there was very little contact with people except bandits.

After breakfast the next day, After mobilizing the whole team, Liu Zhidan took the team to the field outside the village for temporary training; those who could not shoot guns learned to shoot guns, those who could not ride horses practiced riding horses, and then practiced the action of suddenly attacking the enemy and confiscating the enemy's guns.

At dawn on September 28, taking advantage of the clouds and fog, Liu Zhidan set out from Baishachuan with the so-called "Sixth Battalion of Cavalry of the Longdong Militia Regiment". Through the forest, the procession advances along the Hulu River. Liu Zhidan rode a tall horse with an iron blue head and wore the costume of a militia officer. A soldier carried a flag of the Sixth Battalion of cavalry of the Longdong Militia Regiment Army, and a long group of people behind them were dressed in the uniforms of the militia army and riding various kinds of war horses, and in the afternoon, the team entered the town of Taibai.

Taibai Town is a small town in the east of Heshui County, there are two sloping streets intersecting from east to west, there is a river in the middle, there are many shops on the street, there is a burning shop in the southeast of the street, the treasurer's nickname is "Garlic Guest", Liu Zhidan's army is stationed in the Garlic Guest's Roastery on this day.

The garlic officer's name is Li Xuzeng, about fifty years old, this person is righteous and loose, loves to fight and hold uneven, people call him a good man in the green forest, and he also likes to associate with some people who make revolutions. He has known Liu Zhidan for a long time and admires Liu Zhidan's actions. Many people who did revolutionary work lived in his burning house when passing through Taibai Town. When Garlic Ke saw Liu Zhidan's face, he talked about Huang Yulin (nicknamed Huang Erzi), the chief of the Taibai Militia Regiment, whose officers and soldiers often went to the hotel to drink and did not give money, so he was very dissatisfied with Huang Erzi.

That night, Zhao Lianbi,a soldier in the Huang Erzi battalion (the comrade we sent to work in this battalion), came to Liu Zhidan in the name of drinking wine, and he reported the specific situation inside the Huang Erzi unit.

From the morning of September 29 to the evening of the 30th, except for Liu Zhidan and Lao Yang, who had some dealings with Huang Erzi and Wang Ying's deputy, the rest of the personnel carried out the work of making friends between officers and soldiers. In contact with them, while bluffing, threatening that many troops were coming from behind, he also reconnoitred the movements of the other side.

On the evening of the thirtieth day, in the roasting workshop of the garlic guests, several responsible comrades studied the specific situation of the Huang Erzi camp in detail. It is proposed that the enemy be outnumbered and outnumbered, and it is advisable to fight with wisdom and strength; it is advisable to fight quickly and not to last. Therefore, it was decided that Liu Zhidan and Lao Yang would arrest the enemy's battalion commander and battalion deputy alive and ask them to order the troops to surrender their guns; if they could not be captured alive, they would kill the two villains first; at the same time, Commander Lu would be responsible for leading several comrades to join the officers and men of the enemy's first company and waiting for the opportunity to collect their guns; and the garlic guests were responsible for preparing wine and vegetables.

On the morning of October 1, when the sun had just come out of the mountain and the fog had not yet dissipated, Liu Zhidan, Lao Yang, and Deputy Zhao (who disguised himself as a messenger soldier) came to the house where Deputy Wang Ying lived. After Liu Zhidan and Deputy Wang Ying pulled a few idle words, they then said very seriously:

"Vice President Wang Ying, we will soon have more than a hundred people coming, how can we be stationed in France?" In addition, I also need some grain and grass, and I want to discuss it with Commander Huang. ”

Because they had known each other very well in the past two days, Deputy Wang Ying thought for a while and then wrote a note and sent his escorts to invite Commander Huang. At this time, Liu Zhidan gave Deputy Zhao a look. Deputy Zhao understood Liu Zhidan's meaning and immediately ran to the burning house and told Commander Lu to make preparations. After a while, Commander Huang came. He walked into the house, said hello to Liu Zhidan, and sat down.

Liu Zhidan's escort Lu Si, others call him a sharpshooter, these days, he has been with Huang Erzi, Wang Ying's deputy escort quite hot. Wang Ying's deputy guard was very cunning, and Lu Si called him a little rabbit; Huang Erzi's guard was a big man, and Lu Si called him a big man. At this time, Lu Si was sentry on one side, and on the other hand, he was pulling with the little rabbit and the big man. Suddenly, the little rabbit called the big man into the room. Lu Si suspected that they were tricking the ghosts, so he eavesdropped outside the door. Only to hear the little rabbit say: "Deputy Camp Commander Wang wants us to pay attention, if it is not right, we will start first..." The big man said: "I heard the battalion commander say that the battalion deputy is too timid, they are all thin-legged (referring to Liu Zhidan, they are all from some students), dare to tell us what?" "The little bunny scolded the big man for being too stupid. With that, the two men walked out of the room and stood at the door of Vice President Wang Ying, unable to move. Lu Si was in a hurry, took out a pack of Hadermen cigarettes, and said to the big man:

"Please come and smoke with your guys."

The big man took the little rabbit's hand and ran. Lu Si handed them each a cigarette and said:

"Eat! This is what the battalion commander gave me. ”

The three of them were talking outside while smoking.

Wang Ying, the deputy of Wang Ying in the house, held a large cigarette plate and asked Liu Zhidan and Huang Yingchang to smoke on the kang, Liu Zhidan repeatedly said that he would not smoke, only the huang camp commander climbed on the kang. Liu Zhidan was thinking about how to start. Suddenly, a shot rang out from outside, followed by Deputy Zhao who ran in panic and said:

"Commander Huang, your soldiers have mutinied!"

Deputy Wang Ying heard about the mutiny and was about to pull out his pistol, when Liu Zhidan drew his gun and pointed it at his head, ending his life. Commander Huang was busy getting up and was also shot dead by Old Yang.

It turned out that the gun just now was fired by The Road Four. Lu Si was talking with two guards outside, and the little rabbit ran to the stable with a cigarette and prepared two horses. Lu Si asked him:

"What do you do with the horses?"

The little rabbits are messing around. Lu Si saw that the momentum was not right, and he thought that he could not let him run away, and he was in a hurry, just as Deputy Zhao walked into the courtyard, he was busy making a look at Deputy Zhao. After Deputy Zhao nodded, Lu Si shot down the little rabbit. Frightened the big man, he threw the gun and knelt down to beg for his life.

At this time, in the roast shop of the garlic guest, in the courtyard, there were several tables of wine and vegetables. Commander Lu and several comrades carried wine jugs to the officers and men of the Huang Battalion Commander, and some of them had been drunk and turned from side to side; those who were not drunk were still screaming with red faces and fists.

Company Commander Lu heard the gunshots, threw the wine jug away, pointed the muzzle of the gun at the enemy and shouted: "Surrender the gun!" "All the men turned their guns on the enemy.

At this time, Zhao Lianbi raised his gun and said loudly:

"Brethren! Liu Zhidan's army is the army of our poor, we are all suffering people, or go with them! ”

The enemy company commander was stunned, ready to resist, but was knocked down by a shot from The commander of Lu Company. The other enemies were in a mess, some burrowing under the table, some throwing their guns off and running. Some were still stubbornly resisting, and the two sides fought each other for a while before the enemy was destroyed.

Liu Zhidan and a few of them, after completing the task, hurried to the burning house. Just out of the gate, four enemies ran in front of them. Liu Zhidan shouted, "Surrender the gun!" The four enemies obediently laid down their weapons.

When Liu Zhidan rushed to the burning house, the enemies here had basically been wiped out; a small number of enemies had burrowed into the grass piles and kang holes of the common people and were also searched. In the garlic roasting factory alone, more than forty guns, twenty-five mules and horses, and thirty donkeys were handed over.

Huang Jiali's enemy second company, hearing gunshots in the street, rushed out and ran up the hill. At this time, Commander Lu rushed from the burning ground with his men and horses, and together with Wei Youmin, he led more than twenty cavalry to chase after him and fight for a while, capturing a few horses and guns, and the rest of the enemy ran away.

At noon, the battle of Taibai ended triumphantly, and the scourge of the Taibai people was eliminated. As the Red Army prepared to leave, men, women and children in the town huddled joyfully in the streets to watch the bustle. Liu Zhidan spoke a few words to the masses, and then led the team to rush to the Lin Jin Temple. Walking to the jujube thorns thirty miles away from Taibai Town, he happened to encounter two retinues of Ma Jianyou, the commander of the enemy's third company, walking their horses by the side of the road, and Liu Company Commander handed over their guns. Asked:

"What about your company commander?"

"Shop for 'broken shoes' here."

Liu Lianchang ran to a "broken shoe" home with someone, caught Ma Jianyou, and tied him to a horse. Arriving at the Lin Jin Temple at two o'clock that night, Ma Jianyou was forced to surrender all his guns and horses and then released him.

A total of more than sixty long and short guns and dozens of mules and horses were captured in this operation. A dozen captives also joined our ranks automatically. On this night, the warriors were so excited that they could not sleep, blowing trumpets and beating drums, celebrating victory, comparing guns to each other. They said:

"Now we have guns!"

Later, Liu Zhidan led this armed force and carried out guerrilla warfare in the areas of Heshui, Bao'an, and Ansai. The team also grew rapidly.
