Peking Opera "Emperor Girl Flower" is a new repertoire created and rehearsed by the National Peking Opera House based on the legend of the Qing Dynasty and classic Cantonese opera of the same name. Sun Guiyuan pointed out that the adaptation and creation of "Imperial Girl Flower" is a manifestation of Peking Opera's ability to absorb local drama classics, and there have been Mei Lanfang's adaptation and transplantation of the Yu opera "Mu Guiying Hanging Shuai", Liu Changyu's adaptation of the Puxian opera "Spring Grass Breaking into the Hall", and the adaptation of the Yang opera "Hundred Years of Hanging Commander" into "Yangmen Female General".
Sun Guiyuan frankly said that the adaptation of "Emperor Girl Flower" is a big challenge, "The so-called classic is known and loved by the audience, and it is not an easy task for the audience to accept the adapted classic." Adapting classics is not a simple copy, the emphasis is on adaptation, not only to retain the essence of the original work, but also to innovate in the form of expression. ”

Chen Zhenjiang and Li Jiayi, outstanding young Cantonese opera actors from Guangzhou Cantonese Opera Theatre, also served as guests in the lecture, and performed the classic Cantonese opera "Emperor Girl Flower" "Xiang Yao" clip on the spot.
Li Junsheng, a famous Cantonese opera performance artist, winner of the Chinese Drama Plum Blossom Award, and deputy secretary of the general branch of the party branch of the Guangzhou Cantonese Opera, said that the exchange of Peking Opera and Cantonese Opera has a long history, and in the past, there were Cantonese opera masters Hongxinnu and Peking Opera masters Mei Lanfang and Cheng Yanqiu who had close contacts, and often discussed and studied, and it was they who opened the door to the exchange of the two major dramas.
Li Junsheng believes that although Peking Opera and Cantonese opera are one south and one north, they have always paid attention to each other, exchanged and learned from each other in terms of high-quality creation, talent training, and artistic exchanges. Especially last year, the Guangzhou Municipal Bureau of Culture, Radio, Film and Tourism signed a comprehensive strategic cooperation framework agreement with the National Peking Opera House, as well as held activities such as the "When Peking Opera Meets Cantonese Opera" Famous Artists Sharing Meeting, which pushed the cooperation and exchanges between the two major dramas to a climax.
