Shadow |Please call me by your name."

author:Xi Ji Man

Summary: I remember it all that summer.

It's the psychological journey of a 17-year-old, it's a love story that belongs to two boys, it's a beautiful, fresh movie, it's Call Me By Your Name. In this push, I will tell from the perspective of the integration of books and movies.

Released in 2017 and based on the novel of the same name, the film tells the story of a 17-year-old boy from Italy named Elio and a 24-year-old Doctor from the United States named Oliver. Elio's father was a professor, and every summer a student would come to their house to stay temporarily, so they met like this. It took the two men a long time to determine each other's minds, but that time was enough to make them remember the joy of a lifetime. Oliver eventually returns to the United States and gets married, ending with Elio in tears in front of the fireplace.

This movie is not just a same-sex love movie, but more attractive is its beauty, from the shooting method to the framing, many of the beauty you can't imagine is in that town. That summer was full of sweat, sunshine, youth, laughter, but also with restlessness, youth and passion. These are summer memories, these are memories of love.

I've been watching this movie for almost a year, but I've only decided to introduce it until now, in large part because I can't use my barren language to describe the beauty of this movie, not just the beauty of the scenery, not just the beauty of natural life, but also the beauty of the characters, the beauty of love, the beauty of the family, every frame is so gripping.

Eat breakfast, swim, ride a bike, they interpret the hidden passions of these ordinary lives. The book is narrated in the first person by Elio, so many of his thoughts are expressed in the book, he wanted to have a closer contact with Oliver very early on, and he decided to like Oliver very early, and I will give a few examples from the book to let everyone experience his careful thoughts. He could play the guitar for Oliver all the time, as long as he wanted to listen; he would observe his movements in the pool every day or what kind of clothes he was wearing today; he would show reluctance and even want to destroy them when he saw Oliver and the other girls walking closer; he wanted Oliver to die to end his thoughts of him, he wanted Oliver to be in a wheelchair so that he could always be in his line of sight, and he even wanted to end himself, To put an end to that disturbing thought directly... And there are many more. When I read the original book, I thought it wasn't the same mood as I was back then? So this book will resonate with me a lot. When you are in adolescence or young, when you meet such a person who you feel moved, the first reaction may be inferiority, or you want to end this "secret observation" action.

Later, after they were together, it was time to get to the point, Oliver said to Elio, "Call me by your name and I'll call you by mine." Until the end of the film, Elio answers the phone, and he keeps repeating his name into the microphone.

There is a passage in which Elio's father said to him that shocked me:

Our hearts and our bodies are given to us only once, and…

The mind and body belong to ourselves only this time

before you know it, your heart's worn out.

You haven't come back to God yet, and your heart is exhausted

And as for your body.

As for the body

There comes a point when no one looks at it

One day no one will be willing to pay attention

much less wants to come near it

Not to mention wanting to get close to you

Right now there's sorrow, pain.

Now you grieve and you suffer

Don't kill it.

Do not suppress

And with it, the joy you felt.

And the joy you've had

This passage is also sent to you, I hope that when you meet a loved one, you can fight hard and seize the opportunity.

I hope you guys will enjoy this movie.
