There are generally two stages of thinning in the delivery room, the first stage is about 7-10 days after childbirth, and the second stage is about 15-20 days after delivery.

The dilution of these two stages is mostly bacterial and maternal. When dealing with thinning, my principle is to try to take it orally, try to avoid intramuscular injections, and severe intraperitoneal fluids will be done, and generally cannot be used. Sows are treated at the same time.

For thinning, the most used is gentamicin, this medicine I use very well, for thinning slight, generally oral twice, once a day, once 2 ml, can be effective. Strain severely twice a day, 4 ml at a time, with sow treatment.

Most piglets are inseparable from sows, but I don't like to give pigs injections, and most of the thinned sows have surprisingly good appetite, at this time I will choose oral administration. This is to choose a better drug, after long-term verification, sulfa methylisoxazole effect is very obvious, strained very serious piglets, sows used three times, the first time 15 tablets, the second time the third time 10 tablets each, and then piglets twice a day oral gentamicin, once 4 ml. Basically two days can be controlled. This method has been tried and tested. And it basically does not affect the later growth of piglets.

First, let's talk about sulfa methylisoxazole, sulfonamide drugs. It has a wide antibacterial spectrum and strong antibacterial effect, and has bacteriostatic effect on most gram-positive and negative bacteria. Suitable for respiratory, urinary and intestinal infections.

It can hinder the growth of bacteria and has a particularly strong effect on Staphylococcus and E. coli. Used as a feed additive for good effect on poultry cholera.

And it is not expensive, a bottle of about 6 yuan, a bottle of 50-100 pieces, can use 2-3 pigs. Gentamicin a box of about 2 yuan, not expensive. It works well.

To say more, some birth beds are dirty and wet by piglets, which affects the treatment effect. It is important to keep the birth bed dry and hygienic. My approach is to directly remove the piglets temporarily in the summer, and then rinse the birth bed and incubator under high pressure, disinfect and dry, usually for an hour or so.
