The story is set in the 1990 earthquake in northwestern Iran. Korgel, where "Where Is My Friend's House" was filmed in the earthquake zone. The film records what the director saw and heard as he walked with his son through the disaster area. Completing this crossing in a dreamlike atmosphere makes everything a layer of symbolic color.
The river of time is boundless. The sea of life, silent.
Abbas
Time and life are propositions that every true creator must face. This is also an important mark of Abbas films. The feelings of compassion for heaven and man, the love of mankind that intersects with sorrow and joy, enable a creator to break free from the shackles of the ego, ascend to the sky of the human soul, and dive into the deep sea of the human unconscious. There, naturally more echoes are heard.
Akira Kurosawa praised Abbas's work, saying it was unparalleled. They are friends of the soul.
