Double pupils Horror horror

Double Pupil is a thriller horror film directed by Chan Kwok-fu and starring Leung Ka-fai, Rene Lau and David Morse.

The film tells the story of a stubborn Taiwanese police detective and an AMERICAN FBI expert who join forces to hunt down the real culprit behind the bizarre serial murder.

The film was released in Taiwan on October 25, 2002.

Due to the exposure of his colleagues' corruption two years ago, Taipei police officer Huang Huotu (Liang Jiahui) was retaliated against by his superiors and transferred to the unpopular foreign affairs team, and his new colleagues whose interests had been damaged were angry at him, and his wife Qingfang (Rene Liu) could not stand his long-term refusal to go home to ask for a divorce, Huang Huotu felt that his world was gradually falling apart.

At this moment, the identity of the three victims is not related to the bizarre murder that shocked Taiwanese society, the forensic doctor (Yang Guimei) autopsy found that they were all hallucinatory due to a mysterious black mold and died, because of the lack of talent in this area, the authorities invited from the United States to investigate such cases expert David Morse (David Morse) to help solve the case, Huang Huotu was reappointed.

With the discovery of a fact that stunned everyone, a struggle between political interests and people's interests was also unfolding between Huang Huotu and his case-handling partner Li Fengbo (Dai Liren) and the entire police force.

The film uses "low temperature horror" as an application, and the whole film is a deep tone of cold air. The Chinese religious saying about going to hell is packaged with the structure of a Hollywood thriller, and the effect is quite OK, especially the part at the end where Liang Jiahui finds the two-eyed woman with evil spirits in the secret room, trance and confusion, which has the flavor of "X-Files".

But compared with the end of "The Sixth Sense" and "Island Horror", it is still a far cry. In terms of actors, the performances of Leung Ka Fai and Rene Liu are OK, and the performances of Hollywood actor David Morse are also commendable. The performance of the choreographer Chen Guofu can be called skillful, for example, when the first person was killed, the female secretary came close to see, the camera turned to close-up the head of the corpse, and then turned back, it was the forensic doctor's gloved hand reaching over to touch the head, so that the whole process of explaining from discovery to alarm to police arrival was very concise.
