On the morning of July 19th, with the sound of a gong in the hands of 85-year-old Cantonese cross-talk artist Huang Junying, the water cross-talk theater of "Pearl Water Centennial NanXiaolin" opened for the first time.

"I grew up on the Pearl River, but I never starred on the water." Huang Junying's Cantonese crosstalk is the memory of many lao Guang's generation. For the Cantonese cross-talk on the Pearl River passenger ferry, he believes that this is a new approach, but also has confidence, "hope to be able to promote our Cantonese culture and Cantonese culture here, I hope that Cantonese cross-talk can be passed on from generation to generation."
In July this year, under the guidance of the Bureau of Culture, Radio, Television, Tourism and Sports of Liwan District, Guangzhou MunicipalIty Group Passenger Ferry Co., Ltd. and Huang Junying Art Museum joined hands to build the "Zhushui Centennial Nanxiaolin" Water Cross-Talk Theater on the beautiful Pearl River River, riding on the east wind of traditional cultural revival, promoting Cantonese cross-talk, so that this Lingnan cultural heritage and development can once again become a social and cultural hotspot.
Cross-talk and sketches are popular, widely circulated and popular performing arts of the people, especially the Cantonese cross-talk rooted in the local area, and it is also a wonderful flower of Lingnan culture. Since the establishment of Huang Junying, Yang Da and other artists of the older generation in the 1950s, Cantonese cross-talk has become an art that guangdong people have a reputation for, using the art form that the masses like to hear, and writing the people, depicting the people and singing the people with heart and soul, which is deeply loved by the broad masses of the people.
"Zhushui Centennial Nanxiaolin" Water Cross-talk Theater, combined with the "Guangfu Cultural Theme Boat" of Guangzhou Bus Group Passenger Ferry Co., Ltd., docked at Huangsha Wharf to receive tourists from all over the world, and jointly promoted with major travel agencies, becoming one of the attractions of Guangzhou's one-day tour.
The theater is mainly based on Cantonese cross-talk performances, while catering to the needs of the majority of tourists, accompanied by the pace of young trends, upgrading and customizing Cantonese-based bilingual mix-and-match cross-talk sessions, and customizing different themes including red education, urban construction, fire safety, civilized ethics, anti-corruption and honesty, law popularization and drug control, etc. according to the needs of the team.
According to the relevant person in charge of Guangzhou Passenger Ferry, the theater will open every Saturday, Sunday and holiday at 18:30 and 19:15, and the performance time will be about 30 minutes, and after the cross-talk performance, you can take a 60-minute designated flight to tour the Pearl River. Additional sessions will be held at 11:00 and 15:30 depending on the needs of tourists. Groups of more than 50 people can choose to charter the venue from Monday to Friday.
"On the beautiful Pearl River, you can listen to the cross-talk art with local characteristics, enjoy the beautiful scenery of the Pearl River under the vigorous development of the new era, and experience the innovative integration of tourism and traditional culture."
The theater aims to ride on the east wind of traditional cultural revival, create a new punching point for Lingnan culture, inject new elements into the business card of "Pearl River Tour", and show visitors across the country to publicize the Pearl Water culture of Guangfu and provide a good place to enjoy cultural performances.
With the new economic growth model of Guangzhou's cultural tourism industry, it will drive the development of Pearl River tourism and related cultural industries, and seize the tourism market on the basis of local economy and cultural heritage, and make the cultural industry bigger and stronger. Promote the excellent Lingnan culture to the whole country, so that tourists can feel the unique charm of Cantonese cross-talk.
The Pearl River is the mother river that gave birth to Guangzhou's history and humanities, she witnessed the rise of China and recorded the changes of the times with her voice. Today, entering the new era, the leisurely Cantonese rhyme of Cantonese cross-talk is once again floating on the banks of the Pearl River.
