This fall, the university will award the first four scholarships to one member of each class of students, followed by one new student each year thereafter. The Chadwick-Bosman Fellowship will focus on students who demonstrate exceptional skills in the arts; who need to demonstrate leadership, respect, compassion, passion, and excellence; and who demand financial needs.

In a statement, Wyndham-A.I. Frederick, President of Howard University, said: "It is with great joy and deep gratitude that we announce the creation of a donation scholarship in honor of alumnus Chadwick Bosman, whose life and contributions to the arts continue to inspire us. This scholarship reflects Chadwick's love for Howard, his passion for storytelling, and his willingness to support Howard's students for generations to come."

Ted Sarandos, Netflix's co-CEO and chief content officer, said the company thanked Bosman's family and university partners, who spoke highly of the actor.

Sarandos said in a statement: "Although he left us prematurely, his spirit is always with us in his work and in the good things he inspires." He always talks about his days at Howard University and the positive impact it had on his life and career. Now, we will have the opportunity for many future superheroes to experience the same scenario. "

In May, Howard University announced that it would name its newly formed Academy of Fine Arts after the late actor.
