Linkin Park lead singer once said after a friend committed suicide that "can't imagine a world without you"

Linkin Park lead singer once said after a friend committed suicide that "can't imagine a world without you"

On July 21, according to the Associated Press, Chester Bennington, the lead singer of the American rock group "Lincoln Park", hanged himself in his home in Los Angeles, California, at the age of 41.

At 9 a.m. local time on Thursday, Bennington's remains were found in the home. Bennington is intimate with The Soundgarden band, who committed suicide in May of this year, and Chris Cornell, lead singer of the band Audioslave. Cornell hanged himself on May 17 at the age of 52, and July 20 was his birthday, the day his friend was born at the age of 53, and Bennington chose to end his life in the same way.

"After 9 a.m. this morning, we were informed by law enforcement of his death," said Brian Elias of the Los Angeles Forensic Department.

"We immediately dared to go to the scene of the incident, and unfortunately, Mr. Bennington is dead."

Mike Shinoda tweeted

As soon as the news came out, Mike Shinoda, a member of Lincoln Park, tweeted that "shock and heartbreak, but it is real" and that "we will issue an official statement soon."

Founded in 1996, Lincoln Park has a large number of fans around the world, selling more than 70 million albums and winning two Grammy Awards.

There are many famous songs in Lincoln Park, such as "Faint", "In The End" and "Crawling", and they have only worked with rap king Jay-Z.

Meteora topped billboard 2000 (Billboard album chart) as soon as it was released in 2003 and is considered one of the greatest albums of all time indie rock.

As planned, the band will begin touring next week.

For a generation that grew up in the early 2000s, Lincoln Park's debut album Hybrid Theory was hailed as a classic by them, almost everyone had a copy, sold more than 30 million copies worldwide, and has been one of the best-selling albums since the turn of the millennium.

The success of Linkin Park music stems from its mix of musical elements such as metal, rock, rap and hip-hop, forming a new metal gene, which is reflected in the songs "In The End", "Crawling" and "Numb".

But the band's most valuable asset is lead singer Bennington's power plant-like voice. This rock 'n' roll shock is especially evident in their live performances. Unlike many bands, they never use the excuse of venting to abuse vulgar words; instead, they are obsessed with transferring emotions of anger, frustration, pain, and loneliness into powerful music, so that most of the songs on the album convey positive meaning, giving the world the power of catharsis, relief, and healing.

In contrast to his angry, fierce voice, Bennington is a warm, expressive and funny person in private. On the band's latest album, One More Light, they collaborated with prolific songwriters Julia Michaels and Justin Tranter, and the entire album took on a different style.

However, Bennington has struggled with alcohol and drug abuse all along, and his experience of sexual assault in his childhood has led him to reveal the idea of wanting to take his own life. He had two marriages and raised 6 children.

Bennington mourns his friend Chris Cornell at his funeral

In May, after his friend Chris Cornell committed suicide, he wrote an open letter in which he said, "You inspire me in unexpected ways, and I can't imagine a world without you."

After the news of Bennington's death spread across the Internet, many people expressed their respects and condolences. Imagine Dragons tweeted, "Can't be described in words, so heartbroken, rest in peace." Stormzy, who worked with Lincoln Park earlier this year, said, "Bro, I don't want to lie, I'm really sad."
