Citing a report by Britain's Daily Telegraph, Russia's Satellite News Agency said a new Gallup poll showed that in the first nine months of his presidency, U.S. President Joe Biden's approval ratings fell more than any U.S. president since 1945.

Biden set an embarrassing record

The poll results, released Saturday, showed Biden's approval rating fell by 11.3 percentage points (from 56 percent in his first three months as president to 44.7 percent in the past three months). That's more than the 10.1 percentage point drop in support for former U.S. President Barack Obama in the nine months before taking office.

By comparison, former U.S. President Donald Trump's approval rating fell by just 4.4 percentage points in the first nine months of his presidency.

Biden's approval ratings have fallen sharply since July, when cases of COVID-19 infection in the U.S. are on the rise, and the chaotic U.S. withdrawal from Afghanistan at the end of August has seen his approval rating drop, according to the Daily Telegraph.

In addition, according to the New York Post reported in early September, according to a poll, if a new election is held, Trump will defeat Biden.

The results of the poll, released by Emerson College on September 3 and surveyed from August 30 to September 1, showed that if a new election were held and Trump ran again, 47% of respondents would vote for Trump, while those who wanted to vote for Biden would be one percentage point lower, at 46%. In addition, another 6% of respondents said they would vote for another candidate.
