The period from 1978 to 2000 was the highlight of China's "screen era", and for the "post-70s" and "post-80s", it was the "happy time of animation" that they missed the most. Classic translated animations from Europe, the United States, Japan and South Korea and the domestic art films with high national style shine together, and the subtlety of creativity and the wonderful story have provided a visual feast for the Chinese audience of that year.
Since the reform and opening up, hundreds of classic overseas animation dramas have come one after another, ranking first in the United States in number, and the product line is very rich, such as "The Smurfs", "Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck", "Transformers", "Tom and Jerry", "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles", "Special Forces", etc.; Japan is close behind, the more famous ones are "Astro Boy", "Smart One Break", "Flower Fairy", "Saint Seiya", "Robot Cat", "Sailor Moon", etc.; the third in Europe, the representative animations are "Baba Daddy", "The Story of the Mole", "The Smurfs", "The Smurfs". So far, more than thirty years later, many former animation stars have slowly faded out of people's sight, but one has always remained in the hearts of the audience, warming generations, that is, the little mole from the Czech Republic.
The birth of Mole Story is interesting. On Chinese New Year's Eve night in 1956, Mr. Miller accidentally tripped while walking and fell into a mole mound. The childlike director had the idea of creating a cartoon image, and finally he created a series of cartoons based on this little mole. His first film, Mole Making Pants, won the top prize at the Venice Film Festival in Italy in 1957 and went on to win awards in more than a dozen countries around the world. This happy and humorous little mole has earned him a worldwide reputation.
In 1982, this little mole with a red nose and a shovel dug around on China's television screens also appeared. With an ethereal soundtrack and poetic natural scenery, when a mound is piled up from a beautiful meadow and woodland, the children will quiet down because the story of the little mole is about to start.
"Mole Into Town Adventures", "Mole and Toy Car", "Mole and Umbrella", "Mole and TV", "Mole and Eagle"... There are many details in these classic stories that are full of imagination: the mole collects the beating notes of the instrument and rolls it out like a noodle into a record that can be played; the bird flies into the air with the emerald and hangs it high to replace the falling meteor and continue to illuminate the earth in the night; the mole uses the umbrella as a boat to drift on the water, and the next moment hangs the umbrella in the treetops to play on the swing...
The little mole's cute expression and body movements, its pure friendship with other small animals in the forest, and its humorous innocence are all condensed into a mark of the times in the innocent "giggling" laughter. The kindness and liveliness and innocence shown in the story caress the softest part of each audience's heart.
Of course, "The Story of the Mole" is not only about the frolicking between the small animals in the forest, but also conveys the author's thinking about life and the living environment, such as the work "The Adventures of the Mole into the City", the author uses the language and perspective of children to explore the eternal proposition of human development with superb artistic techniques: What attitude should human beings face nature? Can industrial civilization and nature ultimately achieve co-prosperity? The little mole buried the answers to these questions in a secret hole in the mound, leaving the audience with endless reverie.
The interaction between moles and industrial automation and intelligent life, the chapter of moles galloping in space and oceans, and the initiatives of moles and small partners on environmental protection make the vision and pattern of "Mole Story" more open and forward-looking. When Mole and Rocket was released in 1966, Mr. Miller probably didn't think that one day his little mole would actually soar.
In April 2011, American astronaut Andrew Fittel arrived at the International Space Station aboard the Space Shuttle Endeavour and flew a 16-day mission in orbit. On this flight, Fisterer carried an 8-inch mole doll, giving the little guy a magical adventure never before on screen. When Fister visited the Czech Republic in July 2012, he gave The Mole doll that had been on a spaceship to Miller.
In addition to the "Mole Story" cartoon, "Father of the Mole" Miller also personally drew a picture book with the same theme. He uses sharp brushstrokes and soft, poetic colors to subtly show another style of picture books, with the visual effect of cartoon continuous movements. His artistic style is heavily influenced by Czech prints and traditional paper-cutting, with bright colors, simple shapes and strong decorative qualities. Mr. Miller continued to create for his children until the end of his life. "The little mole has never let me down." He said, "It has made me very happy all my life. ”
