Baima Pass is famous for its great fame, and the name comes from a legend. Legend has it that Liu Bei's military master Pang Tong, while marching into Shudi, rode a white horse and was shot at Luofengpo.
The novelist Luo Guanzhong, who wrote this legend into the novel, in the sixty-second time of the "Romance of the Three Kingdoms", there is a passage that says: "Just listen to the sound of a cannon in front of the hillside, the arrows are like flying locusts, and I only hope that the white horse rider will shoot." Poor Pang Tong died under the arrows. Luo Guanzhong's description of Pang Tong's death at Luo Fengpo is sound and colorful, and the scene is very tragic and spectacular, but this is not a historical event. The historical event is that in April of the nineteenth year of Jian'an (214 AD), Pang Tong led a crowd to attack Luocheng, and was shot by the soldiers guarding the city. Pang Tong was Liu Bei's military division with the same name as Zhuge Liang, and his position was very important, and Pang Tong's death cut off an arm for Liu Bei. It is said that after Liu Bei heard the news that Pang Tong had been shot, he was so distressed that he withdrew his troops and buried Pang Tong in Lutou Mountain, east of the city.
Lutou Mountain is the gateway to the northern part of Shudu and is a place where soldiers must fight. During the Three Kingdoms period, Mianzhu Pass was set up here, and the Southern and Northern Dynasties to the Sui and Tang Dynasties set up Lutou Pass, and the five generations of baima pass have been established so far. Although Pang Tong did not die in Luofengpo, although there has been a long history of about 700 years from the Three Kingdoms to the Five Dynasties, people still named this pass after the "White Horse" because of the "high wind of Shiyuan and the admiration of thousands of autumns".

In pang tong's ancestral hall, the two divisions actually made the same offering, indicating that the predecessors were the same as the two divisions. In front of the Second Division Hall, there are inscriptions of the three county orders of Luojiang in the Qing Dynasty, which tell the mystery of the two people's equal respect. Yi lianyun: "The two of them have a peaceful world, and the eternals have become pairs with the sunset." The previous sentence said that the abilities of Pang Tong and Zhuge Liang were very great, enough to settle the country. The latter sentence says that more than a thousand years have passed, and they are here to send away the daily sunset. History is merciless, and the hero Haojie is only a passer-by in heaven and earth. There is also a lianyun: "Three plans to plan Shu, two tables out of the division, a total support for the orthodoxy of the two dynasties; before the White Horse Pass, dingjun mountain, and leave a thousand years of thoughts." "Pang Tong's three plans to plan Shu, Zhuge Liang's two out of the master's table, six out of Qishan." Before Pang Tong was buried in Baima Pass, Zhuge Liang was killed in Dingjun Mountain, and the friendship of the two people, the heroism of the two, the loyalty of the two, the merits of the two, and the history of the two jumped into the middle.
The apse is a dedicated hall dedicated to Pang Tong, and there is a unique combination. This is a joint sentence of Gu Fuchu in the Qing Dynasty,

If Pang Tong did not die, Zhuge Liang and Guan Yu Zhen Jingxiang, Pang commanded the brigade to run Qin Long, and the world would not be divided. Li Xiangen of the Qing Dynasty said this in the "Treatise on the History of the Three Kingdoms". Li Dehan of Luojiang County in the Qing Dynasty also said this, saying in the "Treatise on falling fengpo": "If Shiyuan does not die, Zhuge does not have to enter the river; if Kong Ming does not come, Jingxiang will not be lost, and when Si Jiye, Cao usurped Han, and Wu did not violate the alliance." As the Marquis of Jing, Fu Zhaolie entered qinchuan. The Wu Hou, the God of Wu, marched xu and Luo, attacked end to end, advanced east and west, rode on a chariot, and often raised the eagle, and the name was justified, and the victory was successful. ”

Walking inside from the Qifeng Hall, you will see the tomb of Pang Tong, shaped like a helmet, a pile of fertile soil in the stone wall, outlining the remains of the Shu Han Dynasty. Standing in front of the tomb of Pang Tong, I think of several poems of the ancients who said the tomb of Pang Tong. Lu Fangweng of the Song Dynasty wrote in "Lutou Mountain Over pang Shiyuan's Tomb": "Heroes hate for thousands of years, and fathers and elders think when they are old." The previous sentence said that Pang Tong died before he could succeed, leaving behind a grudge. The next sentence says that people perform sacrifices for several days before and after the birth of Pang Tong on the twenty-sixth day of the first lunar month, and have been accustomed to it for more than a thousand years. Entering the Yellow Spring and being remembered by future generations, with this situation of sacrifice, Pang Gong can look underground. Li Huanan of the Qing Dynasty has a poem "Hanging Pang Shiyuan before the White Horse": "Sandwich road yin sen Han Dynasty pine, Jinghou Ancestral Tomb Baiyun Seal." Gongkai Western Shu people who know, the name of the Nanzhou Shishuo Sect. Do not change the green mountains are long and lush, still green trees heavy. It is difficult to dispel hatred in the fallen phoenix, and there is a crouching dragon in the bright moon. Entrepreneurship is difficult, and it is even more difficult to keep business. Liu Bei, Zhuge Liang, Pang Tong, and many other soldiers together built the Jiangshan, and only fifty years later, they sang elegy on Lutou Mountain.
