King Youwang of Zhou was the last heavenly son of Western Zhou, and it can be said that he was a complete emperor. Following on to my last article, this article writes about how the "Chronicle of History" records the King of Zhou You, and what led to the demise of Western Zhou. Let's take a look.

geological disaster in the early days of King Zhou You's succession

Although the entire Zhou Dynasty was divided into Western Zhou and Eastern Zhou by historians, in fact, in name, Western Zhou and Eastern Zhou were both Zhou Dynasties, and I don't know if you have heard of the legend that King Wen of Zhou walked 800 steps behind Jiang Ziya before he had the foundation of the Zhou Dynasty for eight hundred years. The Zhou Dynasty has evolved from a tribe to a dynasty, experiencing many ups and downs, the rise of the Zhou Dynasty is inseparable from King Wen of Zhou and King Wu of Zhou, and the prosperity of the Zhou Dynasty is inseparable from the rule of King Chengkang of Zhou and King Chengkang of Zhou, and the four emperors of Wenwu Chengkang have prospered through the practice of benevolent government. However, the successors gradually abandoned Renzheng, and when the throne passed to the 10th Tianzi King Zhou Li, Renzheng was basically abandoned, although later Zhao Gong and Zhou Gong ruled in the form of "republic" for fourteen years, and the later successor King Xuan of Zhou also followed Wen Wuchengkang's example of Ren Zheng in the early stages, but in the later period of King Xuan of Zhou, he abandoned Ren Zheng and the Zhou Dynasty began to decline rapidly.

Genealogy of the Western Zhou Tianzi
After the death of King Xuan of Zhou, his son succeeded to the throne, that is, King You of Zhou. When King You of Zhou ascended the throne for two years, earthquakes occurred on the Jing, Wei, and Luo rivers (then known as Sanchuan) near the capital of Western Zhou, and in superstitious antiquity, earthquakes were interpreted as the wrath of heaven. Sure enough, at this time, a doctor named Bo Yangfu began to panic, and he said the following long story:
The Zhou Dynasty is about to perish. The yin and yang of heaven and earth should not be disordered, and if order is chaotic, it must be made chaotic by the human world. Now the earthquake in Sanchuan is because the yang qi between heaven and earth has left its original position and is pressed under the yin qi, so that the water source is blocked, the water source is blocked, the country must perish, and the water and soil ventilation can be used for the people to cultivate and work. Now the yang qi is suppressed by the yin qi, the land is not moistened, and the people are short of money and food. At this point, the state can only wait for its demise. This Boyang Fu then used the example of the Xia Dynasty, saying that in that year, the Yi river and the Luo river dried up, and the Xia dynasty collapsed. The Yellow River dried up and the Shang Dynasty perished. Today, the Qi of the Zhou Dynasty is also like the last years of the Xia Dynasty and the Shang Dynasty, the rivers will be exhausted, and the collapse of the mountains will occur further, and the demise of the country will not take more than ten years.

In the same year that Bo Yangfu finished his remarks, Sanchuan was indeed exhausted, and Qishan also collapsed. It is not known whether Bo Yangfu's remarks were addressed to King Zhou You. However, Sima Qian recorded this passage in the Zhou Benji, I think that on the one hand, this is a sign that the Western Zhou Is about to end, on the other hand, from the side, it shows that king Youwang of Zhou has just succeeded to the throne for two years, it is too bad to look at the heavens, which is the geological disaster as a warning. No matter what, King Zhou You wouldn't care, because he still had to continue to do it.

second, the causes and consequences of the princes of beacon theatre

In my previous article, "The Strange Events That Happened in the Xia Dynasty Actually Led to the Fall of the Western Zhou Dynasty?" How is the chronicle recorded? "Has described the causes and consequences of the princes of beacon theatre, for the sake of the readability of this article, here I will sort it out and repeat it again.
The "Chronicle of History" and "Xia Benji" record that during the reign of Emperor Kongjia, two dragons fell from the sky, one male and one female, and later Kong jia found someone to raise these two dragons. In the third year of King Zhou You's succession, he was particularly fond of a concubine named Chu Ji. Then this praise is related to the two dragons that fell from the Xia Dynasty KongJia. What is the relationship?
Master Sima Qian's record of The Emperor is as follows: A long time ago, when the Xia Dynasty Kongjia had two dragons descending from the sky, and the two dragons also said that they were the ancestors of the Kingdom of Praise, when Emperor Xia found after divination, only by asking for saliva from these two dragons and collecting the dragon's saliva well was the most auspicious. Therefore, at that time, Emperor Xia prayed to the two dragons, saying that he would like to be able to get the dragon's saliva, to pay good respects, and to sacrifice well. The two dragons didn't say a word, and after leaving (a few bites) of saliva, they disappeared. Although this record is not the same as the record of Kong Jia raising these two dragons in the "Xia BenJi", there is no other record in the Xia Ben Ji except for the record of Kong Jia raising dragons, so this article feels that these two legends are the same legend, both fell from the sky when Kong Jia was in Kong Jia, but after hundreds of years of legends, the saying is different.
Let's move on to the relationship between the dragon and the dragon. After Emperor Xia got the dragon's saliva, he packed the dragon's saliva in a wooden box and preserved it, and none of the emperors of the Xia Dynasty ever touched this wooden box. After the fall of Xia, the emperors of the Shang Dynasty also had no one who dared to move the wooden box. After King Wu of Zhou destroyed the Shang, this wooden box was passed to the Zhou Dynasty, but in the last year of the 10th generation of Tianzi King Zhou Li (the first tyrant), he actually opened the wooden box to watch.
Wooden box imagination
This viewing was terrible, the dragon saliva in the wooden box flowed out and flowed to the palace, and it could not be wiped off. King Li of Zhou ordered a group of palace ladies without clothes to shout at the saliva (I don't know who came up with the bad idea, the King of Zhou Li did not lose the emperor), and as a result, the dragon saliva actually turned into a black lizard and climbed to the harem of King Zhou Li. Coincidentally, there was a palace girl in the harem who had just changed her teeth (at the age of six or seven years old in elementary school) who encountered this lizard, but what happened to the lizard later, there is no record, but the record of this little palace girl continues, "Zhou Benji" said that when this palace girl became an adult, she actually became pregnant and gave birth to a child, because she was afraid to throw the child away.
Now we turn our attention to the time of King Zhou Xuanwang, the son of King Li of Zhou, during the reign of King Xuanwang of Zhou, the nursery rhymes of the children sang: "Mountain mulberry bow, ji wooden bag, the scourge of the destruction of the Zhou kingdom." When King Xuan of Zhou heard about it, he was very angry, and coincidentally, there was a couple who happened to be selling quivers made of mountain mulberry bows and ji wood, so King Xuan of Zhou ordered people to arrest them, and the couple began to escape. What was even more coincidental was that on the way the couple escaped, they actually found the child thrown away by the palace maid who had been run into a lizard by the dragon's saliva before, and listening to the child's crying, the couple could not bear it, so they held the child and fled all the way to the princely kingdom.
Later, Chu Guo offended the Zhou royal family and sacrificed the child to the Zhou Dynasty, hoping to be spared. Because this child was sacrificed by the kingdom of Praise, it was called Praise. On a certain day in the third year of King Zhou You's succession, King Zhou You ran to his harem to hang out, found Qiu Ji, loved her very much, and began to spoil Him.
Thumbs up
Soon after, King Zhou You gave birth to a son named Bofu, and King Zhou You deposed both Queen Shen and Crown Prince Yiusu and made Herong the Queen and Bofu the Crown Prince. This Queen Shen was the daughter of the princes Shen Hou, and it was abolished at once, and the abolition was too casual, which also laid hidden dangers for the later demise of Western Zhou. At this time, the historian Tai Shi Boyang, who was in charge of the record, said: "Misfortune is over, there is nothing to do!"
Then the question came again, this Lady didn't like to laugh, King Zhou Youwang was depressed, he wanted to see Lady Smile. After thinking of many ways, praise is not to laugh. In order to make the smile laugh, any method was used, and finally, I don't know who thought of a trick, lit up the wolf smoke on the beacon platform, and sounded the earth-shaking drum. The nearby princes saw the wolf smoke of the beacon tower, thought that there was a war, and rushed to qin wang to protect them, but when the princes rushed all the way to the capital of the Zhou Dynasty, they did not have any enemies. At this time, when she saw the princes stupidly and confused, she actually smiled. King Zhou You was very happy, and he often lit the wolf smoke of the beacon and asked the princes to come and offer a smile. This is actually the story of the early wolf coming, and after a long time, naturally there will be no more princes coming. This is the cause and effect of the Beacon Theatre Princes, and perhaps the version I wrote is the version with the longest cause.
Beacon Theatre Princes

iii, the official demise of the Western Zhou and the beginning of the Eastern Zhou

Later, King You of Zhou reused a man named Shi Father from the Kingdom of Yu, because this Shi Father was treacherous and well-behaved, good at flattery, greedy for money and profit, and the people of the country were not convinced and resentful. In addition, before, King You of Zhou deposed Queen Shen and Crown Prince Yiusu, Queen Shen's father and Crown Prince Yiusu's grandfather (known as grandfather in the south) Shen Hou, could not see it anymore, so they joined forces with the State of Jing and Inu Rong to attack the capital of the Zhou Dynasty, and King Zhou You was frightened and quickly lit a beacon, but no princes rushed to Qin Wang, and soon Shen Hou's coalition army broke through the capital, killed King Zhou You at the foot of Mount Li, captured Qiu, and snatched all the treasures of the Zhou royal family.
In this situation, many princes began to win over Marquis Shen, so Shen Hou joined forces with other princes to establish the previously deposed crown prince Yi Usu as king, that is, the King of Zhouping. After King Ping of Zhou succeeded to the throne, in order to avoid the intrusion of Inuyasha, he moved the capital to Luoyi, and Eastern Zhou began. Starting from king Ping of Zhou, the Zhou royal family continued to decline, the princes can be regarded as no superior leadership, began to strengthen the country and merge the weak country, at that time, the state of Qi, the state of Chu, the state of Qin, the state of Jin began to grow strong, and many political affairs of the Zhou royal family needed to be approved by the princes. In this way, the Eastern Zhou Dynasty continued in the days like sending people under the fence.
Well, the destruction of the Western Zhou caused by the Zhou Youwang and how the Eastern Zhou began are introduced here. I'm midnight ink, thanks for watching.
