
Wang Hui, born in Hubei in 1981, graduated from Hubei Academy of Fine Arts with a bachelor's degree in 2003, graduated from Guangxi Academy of Arts with a master's degree in 2006, and is currently working at the School of Fine Arts of Mianyang Normal University, a member of the China Artists Association, a member of the Sichuan Artists Association, and a director of the Sichuan Gongbi Painting Association.

Poetry and contemporary are the impressions that Wang Hui's works leave on the viewer. Repeated rendering and washing make his works precipitate a quiet and aesthetic picture atmosphere. At the same time, his works pursue the strictness of the shape, the composition and layout are also very exquisite, and the details are repeatedly deliberated, and the charm is endless.
Wang Hui used his free time to paint many sketches, these works are small in scale, but the realm is not small, he integrates the spirit of the Song Dynasty flower and bird painting into the diversified context of contemporary gong brush painting, and uses the contemporary perspective to understand the oriental aesthetic feelings revealed in the ancient artificial pen flower and bird painting.

Color is an important part of a painter's painting language, if the line is the bone of Chinese painting, then color is its brilliance, but also the most impressive visual language for the viewer. Wang Hui's works can feel the author's emotions hidden in the plain gray tone, and his "One Flower, One World" series of works creates a world full of mystery, adding an absurd modern sense to the aesthetic imagery of literati paintings, nihilistic, alienated and full of fun. The images of animals hidden in the heart of the lotus are a language, and they are also the transmission of the painter's state of mind. Tang Zhang Yanyuan's "Records of Famous Paintings of Past Dynasties" said that "the paintings of the ancients are simple and elegant", and the painter wants to create an elegant and unobtrusive color feeling. Traditional Gongbi painting, under the aesthetic principle of "color with class", has produced a unique oriental feeling of color setting, the dull brightness of mineral color and the transparent and flexible movement of plant color, so that the color of Chinese Gongbi flower and bird painting presents a harmonious beauty beyond nature. Wang Hui's works are good at blending mineral colors such as ochre, stone green, and cinnabar in medium gray tones, and the works appear more stable, and the many thin applications of colors are better than the thick paintings, and also enrich the interpretiveness of the works.

Wang Hui's gongbi painting works have a wide range of subjects, in the figure painting and flower and bird painting have achievements, his figure painting works, the tone is elegant and melancholy, he likes the gray tone, the picture breath is beautiful, the character image in the work seems to come from the painter's state of mind or a situation of intention, the character is not set in the real space, the character image also carries the painter's strong personal characteristics. In the tone of dark gray, the expression of the characters is submerged in the empty space, as if the close connection between heaven and earth, everything, is maintained, so that it is impossible to give up the complex. This kind of creation is a very personal process, and the picture conveys a kind of time desolation and diffuse thoughts.
Wang Hui is a sharp and delicate painter, creative techniques are diverse, recently saw his series of works "One Flower, One World", the blooming lotus flowers occupy most of the space of the picture, and anthropomorphic elk, gibbons, ring-tailed lemurs and other animal images can be seen among the flowers, the composition is bold, the shape is full and vivid, this series of works, the color is more peaceful, serene, giving people a poetic association. The lotus flower symbolizes purity and endless life, and these living beings that come alive in between lead the viewer into a mysterious world like a dream.
