In order to ensure the ecological safety of the forest and strictly prevent the introduction of pine wood nematode disease, the forestry and grassland bureaus of the city, counties (districts) and the Meridian Ridge ForestRy Management Sub-bureau attach great importance to it, take prompt action, set up an investigation leading group, set up 34 professional inspection teams, and carry out drag-net inspections of key areas such as oil pine forests, dead pine woodlands, forest parks, and timber markets at the border with other provinces in the jurisdiction.

It is understood that pine wood nematode disease is a devastating forest disease caused by pine wood nematode (Bursaphelenchus xylophilus), which is a major invasive alien species in China and has been included in the list of forestry quarantine pests in China. Its transmission medium is the pine brown throng, which mainly feeds on pine plants. Coniferous tree species such as oil pine and Huashan pine in our city are large, and once infected, millions of acres of pine forests will be destroyed. The investigation of pine forests covers an area of 986,700 mu, 74 wood processing and sales points, and 6,501 dead pine trees, and the current investigation work is fully completed, and no pine wood nematode disease epidemic and pine brown cattle hazards have been found.
