On February 5, the new list of wild animals under national key protection was officially announced. On the basis of all species on the original list, 517 species (classes) of wild animals have been added to the new list. 65 species, such as jackals and Yangtze River finless porpoises, have been upgraded from national second-level protected wild animals to first-class wild animals.
