In recent years, the awareness of protecting wild animals has become more and more popular, but there have always been unscrupulous elements who illegally sell and trade rare wild animals. Recently (on the afternoon of the 20th), a pre-litigation hearing on a civil public interest lawsuit for the illegal sale of precious birds was held at the Shibei District Procuratorate.
The reporter learned that the small sun parrot, that is, the sun cone-tailed parrot from South America, is a national second-level key protected wild animal. Well-known "caged birds" species such as thrush, wren brother and red-winged embroidered bird were also included in the new version of the "List of Wild Animals under National Key Protection" in early February 2021, becoming a national second-level protected animal and prohibiting private breeding. At present, the case is under further trial, and the birds involved have been handed over to Zhongshan Park for breeding.
Here, Blue Eye reminds those who love pets and keep pets: consciously resist the illegal acquisition, sale, and raising of rare and endangered wild animals, keep the bottom line of the law, and legally raise pets. Once citizens discover the criminal acts of illegally acquiring, transporting, or selling rare and endangered wild animals, hunting and selling wild animals, and damaging the ecological environment, they should immediately report to the police.
