During the Zhengde period, Liu Yusheng served as the inspector of Guizhou to supervise the imperial history, which was related to Liu Jin and Wang Yangming, two well-known figures.

Some documents believe that Liu Yusheng was a henchman of the eunuch Liu Jin, and some documents believe that the two were political enemies. In the early Qing Dynasty, Yu Jiacai's passionate work on the history of Shishou, "Embroidered Forest Jingxian", wrote: "Liu Gong Baitan, Tingfu folded Liu Jin, and there was a small imperial history in the palace. ”

In the first year of Zhengde (1506), Wang Yangming angered Liu Jin and was demoted to Guizhou Longchang as a postmaster, and had a friendship with Liu Yusheng. There are also documents that believe that Liu Yusheng was sent by Liu Jin to Guizhou to "brush the scroll". The so-called brushing of the scrolls is to inspect the trial of criminal prison cases by the subordinate yamen.
