Bryan Singer, director of X-Men: Apocalypse, recently confirmed through Empire magazine that british actor Ben Hardy plays the role of Angel, and he also released two conceptual art drawings of the role.
"Angel" appeared in X-Men: The Last Battle, played by Ben Foster. In the comics, the character is named Warren Kenneth Worthington III, the heir to a large corporation. He was born with a pair of wings that could fly.
However, you can see that in the "Angel" concept art art by Brian Singer, the angel's wings are not like feathers, but more like sharp blades, which seems to hint at the fate of the "angel" character.
In the comics, the angel's wings are cut off, after which Apocalypse saves him and gives him a new pair of wings, and in return, the Angel becomes the servant of the Apocalypse, the head of the Four Horsemen, Death, known as the Archangel. (The other three knights are War, Plague, and Famine)
After becoming an "archangel", the blonde Warren Worthington III's skin also turned blue, and his new wings were made of a special metal material that could cut any object, and what looked like feathers was actually a deadly dart.
Ben Hardy
Born in 1991, Ben Hardy's original surname was Jones, and "Hardy" was his stage name. His masterpiece is the BBC soap opera East Enders.
X-Men: Apocalypse is a trilogy set in the 1980s and tells the story of X-Men men joining forces against the oldest mutant, Apocalypse.
Filming will begin in Montreal on April 28 this year and will be released on May 27 next year.
