Wutai has the title of "the first fruit town in Jiangbei", one of the three major yellow peach production areas in the country, and is a "demonstration area for the quality and safety of export agricultural products". The town planted 30,000 mu of yellow peaches, 10,000 mu of grapes, 2,000 mu of large cherries, 4,000 mu of strawberries under the forest, 2,000 mu of salvia, and the annual output of fruits was 320 million jin.
After years of cultivation and development, Wutai Town has 5 e-commerce platforms, more than 120 online stores and micro-stores, 12 express delivery company agencies, a total of more than 300 people engaged in the e-commerce industry, in 2016 the town's e-commerce transaction volume reached 120 million yuan, Wutai Town was rated as the first batch of Linyi E-commerce Demonstration Town by the Municipal Bureau of Commerce, and Dongjintai Village was rated as the first batch of Linyi E-commerce Demonstration Village.
On September 1, 2020, Ali Research Institute announced that Taobao Town in 2020 will be on the list of Wutai Town.
