In order to ensure the "safety on the tip of the tongue" of the people of the city, the Guilin Municipal Market Supervision Bureau combined with the practical activities of "I do practical things for the masses", and recently issued the "Notice on the Governance of the Problem of Illegal addition of ethyl maltol to Edible Vegetable Oil", and since September, it has carried out a three-month period of governance of the problem of illegal addition of ethyl maltol to edible vegetable oil in the city.
The governance work will conduct a comprehensive supervision and inspection of the city's edible vegetable oil production enterprises, focusing on five aspects: First, check whether edible vegetable oil production enterprises purchase and use ethyl maltol; second, whether the purchase of vegetable crude oil and vegetable oil as raw materials, whether the raw materials are inspected for ethyl maltol projects; the third is whether the raw material suppliers are audited, the production process is controlled, and the product is inspected; the fourth is whether the purchase certificate and ticket system is strictly implemented; and the fifth is whether the unsafe food recall management system is established and improved.
The "Notice" requires the city's market supervision departments at all levels to give full play to the role of the media, encourage all walks of life to participate in the social supervision of edible vegetable oil quality and safety, and promote the formation of social co-governance; at the same time, smooth the 12315 complaint and reporting hotline and telephone, email, letter and other complaint and reporting channels, and timely grasp the clues related to the illegal addition of ethyl maltol to edible vegetable oil.
