Xu Shuzheng was born on November 11, 1880 in Xiao County, Jiangsu Province (now part of Anhui). Xu Shuzheng was free and intelligent, known as a child prodigy, and after studying hard, he was able to become a talented, literary and martial person.
Later, the Sino-Japanese Sino-Japanese War broke out, and the result of the war was that the Qing government ended in a crushing defeat. The fiasco of the Sino-Japanese War brought heavy disasters to China at that time.
After the Sino-Japanese War, many Chinese intellectuals began to abandon their pens and surrender, including Xu Shuzheng.
In 1900, when the Eight-Power Alliance invaded China, when the Qing government was recruiting soldiers, Xu Shuzheng knew about it, and secretly left home with money to join the army.
But after Xu Shuzheng's mother Yue Shi knew, she hurriedly rode in a mule car to chase, and under the close pursuit, she finally caught up with Xu Shuzheng and successfully brought him back.
In order to make Xu Shuzheng give up joining the army, Xu Shuzheng's father and mother thought that if he found a wife for him and let him collect his heart, maybe he would be able to settle down at home. Therefore, xu Shuzheng was given a family affair.
But what Xu's father and mother did not expect was that after Xu Shuzheng married a woman named Xia Xuan, Xia Xuan respected her husband Xu Shuzheng's ideas very much, and as a result, she even paid her husband to pursue his ideals.
At this time, Xu's father and Xu Mother saw that Xu Shuzheng's will to join the army was firm, so they had to agree to Xu Shuzheng to join the army.
After Xu Shuzheng joined the army, he wanted to defect to Yuan Shikai, but he failed, but he got to know Duan Qirui, and after getting to know each other, he gradually gained Duan Qirui's trust and appreciation, and eventually became Duan Qirui's confidant.
In 1905, Xu Shuzheng, with the help of Duan Qirui, was sent to the Infantry Section of the Japanese Officer School to study.
After several years of study in Japan, Xu Shuzheng finally returned to China. After he returned to China, he began to give advice to Duan Qirui, and served as Duan Qirui's staff, successively serving as the director of the Military Science Department of the War Department, the director of the Military horse department, and the deputy director of the War Department.
Because Xu Shuzheng was very capable and really talented, he won the trust of Duan Qirui. Many of the major decisions and decisions after Duan Qirui were mostly planned by Xu Shuzheng for him.
At that time, Duan Qirui was a well-known figure, and it was precisely because Xu Shuzheng was trusted and appreciated by him, so Xu Shuzheng began to look at no one, flying, and sometimes even the face of President Li Yuanhong.

Lu Jianzhang, also spelled Lang Zhai, was a native of Mengcheng, Anhui Province, who graduated from the Tianjin Beiyang Wubei Academy and later became a general directly related to the Beiyang warlords. In 1915, he was in charge of military affairs in Shaanxi, and during his time in Shaanxi, he killed many revolutionaries and innocent masses, which made him known as "Lu Tubo".
Lu Jianzhang became the governor of Shaanxi, in charge of Shaanxi's military affairs, and supported Yuan Shikai as emperor, which affected Duan Qirui's interests, so Duan Qirui and Xu Shuzheng secretly asked Chen Shufan, the defender of southern Shaanxi, to drive Lu Jianzhang out of Shaanxi.
Later, Lu Jianzhang learned that Chen Shufan was instructed by Duan Qirui and Xu Shuzheng, so he deeply hated Duan Qirui.
After that, between Duan Qirui and Lu Jianzhang, there were not only constant contradictions, but also differences of opinion on many issues.
Moreover, Duan Qirui and Xu Shuzheng were the main warring faction, and they took the line of "reunification by force."
However, when Lu Jianzhang was appointed by Feng Guozhang as a senior adviser to the Presidential Office, he advised Feng Guozhang, but the route he took was the road of "peaceful reunification".

At this time, the contradiction between Duan Qirui and Lu Jianzhang was already difficult to reconcile, and as Duan Qirui's confidant, he began to plan to get rid of Lu Jianzhang.
However, it was Ni Sichong who directly found Xu Shuzheng and asked him to assassinate Lu Jianzhang.
After Ni Sichong's failure to support Zhang Xun's restoration, he threw himself into Duan Qirui and became the overseer of Anhui. Like Xu Shuzheng, he was supported by Duan Qirui and acted very flamboyantly. This made Lu Jianzhang very dissatisfied, and under such circumstances, Lu Jianzhang formed the Anhui Ni Army.
For this reason, Ni Sichong hated Lu Jianzhang very much, so he decided to remove Lu Jianzhang as a thorn in his eye. After that, he found Xu Shuzheng, when he said that he wanted to get rid of Lu Jianzhang. They hit it off, and after deliberation, they decided to assassinate Lu Jianzhang.
In April 1918, when Duan Qirui was on a southern tour of Hankou and presided over a military conference, he said in front of the warlords present that Lu Jianzhang should be brought to justice, and the warlords at that time all agreed, but only Xu Shuzheng was silent. The reason why he was silent was not to oppose the removal of Lu Jianzhang, but to contemplate the strategy of removing Lu Jianzhang.
In June 1918, the military governors of the provinces prepared to convene a military conference in Tianjin to discuss the war against the south and the presidential election. At this time, the acting president Feng Guozhang secretly ordered Lu Jianzhang to go to Tianjin to persuade Cao Kun to oppose Duan Qirui, in order to attack the Anhui warlords.
After Xu Shuzheng and Ni Sichong knew about it, they naturally could not stand still, so they went to yang Yuting, a warlord general of the Feng clan, to discuss the removal of Lu Jianzhang.
After they discussed together, they finally made up their minds and made up a secret plan.
On June 14, 1918, Xu Shuzheng called Lu Jianzhang, invited him to his headquarters, and said that there was an important matter to discuss.

When Yang Yuting saw Lu Jianzhang coming, he said to Xu Shuzheng, "This person is very hateful, kill him." It seems that he is looking for death this time. With that, he went into the inner hall.
At first, Xu Shuzheng was very polite and courteous to Lu Jianzhang, not only handing over cigarettes, but also pouring tea and water, but he just didn't talk about serious things.
This made Lu Jianzhang anxious, so he asked, "I don't know what happened when General Xu found me?" ”
Xu Shuzheng said: "I have long heard of Mr. Lu's name, and I have always wanted to know you, but I have never had the opportunity." Sir is now in Tianjin, so he invited him to see him, and of course, by the way, he can also talk about state affairs. ”
After Lu Jianzhang heard this, he asked, "But I don't know what state affairs General Xu wants to talk to me about?" ”
Xu Shuzheng saw Lu Jianzhang asking himself, and he was not in a hurry to answer, but looked outside and said: "Today the weather is good, why don't you and I go to the back garden to walk, you can also talk while walking." ”
Lu Jianzhang didn't think much of it, so he followed Xu Shuzheng to the back garden. But he never thought that at this moment, Xu Shuzheng in front of him had already killed him.
When Lu Jianzhang followed Xu Shuzheng to the back garden, just as he was walking and talking about his happiness, he suddenly found that Xu Shuzheng had walked to the back and was still some distance away from himself.
Lu Jianzhang felt that something was wrong, so he prepared to go to Xu Shuzheng, but at this time, Xu Shuzheng let two soldiers shoot directly at Lu Jianzhang.
Only a few thudding gunshots were heard, and Lu Jianzhang had already fallen to the ground.
Lu Jianzhang, who had killed countless people and was known as "Lu Tubo", was booby-trapped and killed by Xu Shuzheng.
After Xu Shuzheng killed Lu Jianzhang, he charged Lu Jianzhang with a telegram on the charge of "colluding with bandits and chaosing the party, inciting the army, and trying to advocate chaos." The main reason why Xu Shuzheng did this was to turn his booby-trapping and killing of Lu Jianzhang into a legitimate action.
When Duan Qirui heard that Xu Shuzheng had killed Lu Jianzhang, he was also very surprised, but he did not investigate Xu Shuzheng deeply, after all, he also knew that Xu Shuzheng was doing this for the benefit of the Anhui clan.
Of course, Duan Qirui knew in his heart that as a general among the warlords of the direct line, Lu Jianzhang was killed for no reason, and the people of the direct line would certainly not give up, so he asked Xu Shuzheng to make plans early in order to prevent the direct family from retaliating.

At that time, Lu Jianzhang and Feng Yuxiang were related by marriage, and when Feng Yuxiang heard that Lu Jianzhang was killed by Xu Shuzheng, he was angry and had the idea of revenge.
However, Feng Yuxiang also knew that his current strength could not fight hard with Xu Shuzheng, so he had to hide his hatred in his heart, but he did not give up the idea of revenge.
Until 7 years later, in 1925, Xu Shuzheng, who was known for his assassination, finally escaped the end of being assassinated.
In early December 1925, Xu Shuzheng in Tianjin was preparing to go to Beijing to meet Duan Qirui, after which he began to tout the idea of the unity of the three major warlord factions of the Anhui, Feng, and direct families, hoping to suppress Feng Yuxiang's forces in this way.

On December 29, 1925, Xu Shuzheng was preparing to return to Tianjin from Beijing, and Feng Yuxiang learned of the time of Xu Shuzheng's return to Tianjin and sent someone to wait at Langfang Station.
In the early morning of December 30, when Xu Shuzheng's train stopped at Langfang Station, Feng Yuxiang's people rushed onto the train, and Xu Shuzheng was taken out of the train and shot before he could understand what was going on.
