The Koryaks, with a population of about 8,022, speak The Koryak (of the Chukotka-Kamchatka language) and practice shamanism, but due to the influence of the Slavs, some use Russian and practice Russian Orthodoxy.

The Chukchi, Alyut (Aleutian), Krek (Crick) and Itelmian are relatives of the Koryaks.

The Koryaks live mainly in the Koryak National District of Kamchatka, Russia (0.57 million), with a minority living in Magadan Oblast and other parts of Kamchatka.

The Koryak language belongs to the Chukotchi-Kamchatka language family of the ancient Assyrian language family, which uses the Cyrillic alphabet. The Koriaks practice shamanism.

There are 7953 (2010). The Koryaks are mainly distributed in Russia, with 69 Corillaks in Ukraine.

The Kolyaks are homologous with the Chukchi and Ittermians and form on the Kamchatka Peninsula and the northern coast of Okhotsk.

From the end of the 17th century the Russians began a large-scale expedition to the Corillacs, and in the middle of the 18th century the Corillacs finally surrendered to Russia. In 1930 the Koryak National District was established, which belongs to the Kamchatka Region of the Russian Federation.

The Corillac are mainly engaged in deer farming, sea beasts hunting, fishing and hunting.

The Kolyak people live in the Kamchatka Peninsula in the Russian Far East, similar to the northern ethnic minorities such as the Hezhe and Orenchun in our country, raising reindeer, due to the sparse population, wide distribution, long under the jurisdiction of Russia, and now the national culture is gradually disappearing, and some young people can no longer even speak their own national language.

The Corillak language belongs to the Luorawetlan family of ancient Siberian languages.

The Koryaks were probably indigenous peoples on the northeastern shore of the Sea of Okhotsk, and thus developed eastward.

In the late 17th and early 18th centuries, when Russia annexed the area, there were about 13,000 Corians. Some reindeer who live inland, seaside residents settle down, and make a living by fishing and hunting fish and animals in the sea.

Its residence is semi-basement in winter and tented on top of wooden stakes in summer.

The Koryaks have no public authority, no tribal or clan organizations, and practice monogamous, paternal marriage and paternity.

The popular full-time shamanism and family shamanic activities believe that people with "transvestites" are miraculous shamanic witch doctors.

The Koryaks believed that wolves were their close relatives.

Raven occupies an important place in mythology.

Weakened by resistance to the Russians, the Koryaks were often attacked by their northern neighbor, the Chukchi, and the smallpox epidemic at the end of the 18th century cut the total population of the Corillaks in half. The majority of the Corillac still practice their traditional occupations.
